10 Things I'm Doing This Festive Period

That's right, I'm finally creating Christmas blog content. Guaranteed I'm probably a month behind everyone else who has probably uploaded 5x gift guides along with their top Christmas makeup picks, but better late than never right? So I thought I'd put together a list of 10 things I'm doing this Christmas to get into the Christmas spirit, and trust me, they are very very Christmassy.

Ice Skating At the Natural History Museum - When I was younger and living in Switzerland I would go ice skating constantly with my parents and brother, however it's something I definitely stopped doing once I went to University. Last year my flatmate and I very hungover went to the Natural History Museum to Ice Skate and although it was such crap weather, it was still so magical.

Flying Back to Switzerland - Of course I'll be spending Christmas at home in Switzerland this year and on the 22nd of December will be flying back home. Fingers crossed I will see some snow and be able to ski, but I love how festive it feels over there with all the Christmas markets and especially spending it with my cats.

Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park - Speaking of Christmas markets, although very crowded, I have visited Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park every year since moving to the UK and just love it. Not only for the fact that I can be reunited with my one true love, bratwurst, but also because everyone around you feels so festive and excited about the season.

Watching All The Festive Movies - Is it even Christmas without binge watching Love Actually, The Holiday, The Polar Express and A Christmas Carol?! I'm a total weirdo though, and sadly Elf and Home Alone aren't my favourite Christmas movies, but I know for sure there is no way my flatmate Emily won't let me watch them!

Attending Every Christmas Event - Queue the long list of festive drinks at work and I will be taking full advantage of each and every single one of them. Emily yes we literally do everything together and I will be hosting our own festive drinks at our flat as well and we are so bulk buying any snacks in the shape of Christmas Trees or stars

Mariah Carey's I Want For Christmas Is You Tour - Yup, I'm going all out. Emily and I are going to see Mariah Carey's Christmas tour, and tell me this, is there anything more festive than dancing to the queen of Christmas herself? Fingers crossed she sings of course, All I want for Christmas is You, but also my other favourite 'Oh Santa'.

Baking Everything Festive -  Although all the Christmas food is left to my Dad and brother trust my, it's the best thing to stay out of the way in the kitchen I do of course have to bake during the festive season. I love gingerbread cookies and mine and my dad's tradition is to always make a chocolate yule log as well.

Spending Time with Family - This year I'm so happy that I've got my Grandma, Auntie and Uncle, My Cousin and her boyfriend all coming over to Switzerland too. This will be the first time in ages that I'll be spending it with more family which will be so much fun, although even organizing Secret Santa has been a mission and a half haha!

Decorating My Flat - With us hosting festive drinks at the flat, we of course have to go all out on Christmas decorations. Last year we did pick up a tree and loads of decorations as well but can you ever have too many? The answer is no. We've still managed to pick up some amazing cute bits from Amazon, Tiger, Primark and Next Home this year so we'll be more decked out than ever. I picked up the wreath pictured above last year from M&S.

The Annual Emily and Caroline Christmas Card - Last year Emily and I made our Christmas cards to send to our friends, colleagues they really donned the work desks and family and personally we felt they were so well received (there was a photo of us in matching pj's drinking hot chocolate) that knew we would do another one this year - final product will definitely be shared on my Instagram stories!

Let me know in the comments below something you'll be doing this Christmas!
