Kat Von D Shade and Light Eyeshadow Palette

Kat Von D is a brand I've heard so so much about but had never purchased a single product from and I have no idea why. I was lucky enough to go to the launch event for Kat Von D x Debenhams through work and they very very generously had one of these in their goodie bags along with so many of their other products. I'm a sucker for an eyeshadow palette and personally don't think you can ever have too many so the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Shadow Palette  has made itself at home in my makeup drawer.
This palette comes with 12 eyeshadow shades, with 3 'quad' sections in which there is a large pan of a base colour and then 3 corresponding shadows to create a look. The below are the different sections they are divided into:

1. Neutral Quad
Lateus - A yellow matte base shade
Samael - A toffee satin contour
Salas - dark brown define
Lucius - White champagne highlight (shimmer)

2. Cool Quad
Lazarus - A grey matte base
Saleos - Dark grey satin contour
Shaz - A black matte define
Liberatus - A white highlight (shimmer)

3. Warm Quad
Ludwin - Beige/cream matte base
Succubus - A burgundy contour
Sytry- Dark grey/brown define
Latinus - Golden/Pink champagne highlight (shimmer)

Not only are all of these shades incredibly pigmented, but I love that they have separated the shades meaning it's easier to build and create a look. All of the shimmery highlight shades are a little on the chunky side but are still pigmented and if used with an eyeshadow primer or with a Fix + spray, they look gorgeous for an all over eyeshadow. My favourite side of the palette would have to be the 'Warm Quad' mainly because Succubus and Latinus are absolutely stunning shades for a night out and the 'Cool Quad'. However I have also been mixing the quads up, using the highlights and contours from different quads and playing around with them together, and they still all manage to work well together.

I personally love the packaging of this product, it's feels weighty and luxurious although it does mean it's not exactly 'travel friendly'. Overall I think this is an incredible palette for those wanting to try out Kat Von D for the first time. It's got a great selection of shades and they are fabulous quality especially for the price.

    1. The base shades are all matte and the contour shades have a bit of shimmer but are more like a matte satin finish :) definitely more useable and can create so many looks! Xx
