Monthly Favourites: January

I don't know about you guys, but I am so fricking excited that January is over. It was seriously the longest month in existence and I'm like finally ready to jump into February and get closer to Spring. It seemed like I kind of ignored all of my berry tones and dark red lips in January because I had worn them so much before and throughout Christmas so a lot of these are much more Spring-like products instead.

Kathleen Lights KL Nailpolish 'Alyssa' - My flatmate actually got me two of the KL polishes for Christmas, Alyssa and Lumiere and I am absolutely in love with them. Kathleen has to be one of my all time favourite YouTubers and when I found out she had come out with a nailpolish line I knew I would love it. I own the shade Alyssa in an Ultra Satin Lip and the point of the nailpolishes are that they can match her Colourpop collaborations. I am obsessed with the formula of these, they last 6-7 days on my nails which is seriously hard to find a polish that does that and the size of the brush is perfectly wide enough to cover your nail-bed so it glides on seamlessly.

Too Faced Natural Eye Shadow Palette - This palette is always going to be a firm favourite of mine, and although I've completely used up my all time favourite shade 'Push Up' in there, and I've severely hit pan on 'Honey Pot' the two shades 'Cashmere Bunny' and 'Nudie' are that perfect nude browns for your crease. I don't think I go a day without using this palette, because for any eye-look I do, I have to incorporate it into my shadow.

Sleek Shimmer Blush 'Rose Gold' - It's been hard to move away from using my Milani blush everyday, but as I've been trying to use more products in my collection, I've been reaching for Rose Gold. Although this is much more of a Spring-time blush, it still has a hint of mauve and berry deep into it and therefore it works quite well with the other products I've been loving this month.

NYX Lingerie 'French Maid'* - This is my first ever NYX Lingerie product and I have to say I'm pretty obsessed. I absolutely loved the Soft Matte Lip Creme formula, so knew I would love the Lingerie ones as they are light-weight, comfortable and so smooth. It still has that almost moussey texture and 'French Maid' is a stunning mauvey burnt brown nude.

Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner 'Lolita' - Lolita is one of the cult favourite products I constantly hear about and when I got my hands on the lip liner I immediately fell in love. I think the Kat Von D lipliner formula has to be ultimately my all time favourite in existence, they are retractable crayons so you don't have to deal with any sharpening, or worse, scratchy tugging on your lips. Lolita matches almost scarily perfect to the NYX Lingerie product, so this duo has been a pair in heaven.

Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow - I'm a massive fan of Charlotte Tilbury makeup products but hadn't really gotten around to trying any of their skincare, so when I picked up the Red Carpet Travel Kit (review here) it seemed like the perfect way to get acquainted. I immediately fell in love with the Wonder Glow because as someone with dry skin, this ultimately gives you a healthy glow underneath your foundation. As I only have the travel size I've been keeping this for nights-out instead as I don't want to use too much of it up, but I'm really contemplating buying the full sized now!

  1. That particular Sleek blush is the dupe for Nars Orgasm, right? it looks really similar anyways! I own the latter, which honestly is not my favourite blush in the world...
I have to check out the Kat Von D lip liners, you make them sound so good. I've never tried any, but this shade looks right up my street.
Glad you like the Nyx Lingerie lippies, I found them to be quite drying on my lips. I normally don't have trouble with that, so it meant they were reeeeally drying and I just didn't reach for the one I owned. Such a shame because they have such an amazing range of nudes!

    1. Yeah it is! I've actually been wearing a lot less foundation and a lighter base and think this blush only works with a lighter foundation rather than something that is a bit heavier! Oh no that's such a shame, I definitely think the Lingerie's are much better than other liquid lipsticks I've tried from like Kylie Cosmetics etc, they remind me more of the colourpop Ultra Satins, although as I do have intensely dry lips I use a ridiculous amount of lip balm which may help! xx

  8. I hear so many good things about the Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow, I really need to hurry up and try more products from CT. I somehow never knew Kathleen Lights had an Alyssa nail polish, maybe this was because I've avoided the launch as we can't get it shipped over here, but I so definitely need Alyssa, I'm obsessed with Colourpop satin lip of this. xx
