My Travel Makeup Bag

I've been super lucky that over the past couple of months I've been able to travel with work to Cape Verde and Barcelona along with going to Iceland with my family in March. From that I've become, I have to say, very good at minimal makeup packing. I never thought I could actually whittle down my makeup collection to fit into that hand-luggage only under 100ml liquid plastic bag.

As I was running around in the heat a lot for work and mostly sight-seeing in Iceland I wasn't really too fussed about bringing a heavy base, so stuck with my trust BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. I love this product because it's so lightweight and my face really gets the sun so I know this will sit on top really nicely when my freckles peak through. I never go anywhere without my trusty Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. This makes such a great travel product because firstly it's plastic (unlike my Bourjois concealer) and the packaging really small so doesn't take up masses of room in that plastic bag!

I actually try to refrain taking too many powdered products because they just smash in my luggage, I've never been so upset than when my Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer smashed! I've fallen back in love with my Milani Illuminating Powder 'Beauty's Touch'  which has just been the best setting powder. It's so fine compared to my Rimmel Stay Matte one and just sits really nicely on top of the BareMinerals base whilst also adding both a healthy bronze and rose-tint across the face. I am much more partial to a bit more blush so it's no surprise to anyone I have to take with me the Milani Powder Blush 'Romantic Rose'*.

For the eyes it's no surprise I bring along the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise 'Jean' as my everyday champagne all over the eyes product, and the shade 'Bette' for my night-time shade. I don't go anywhere without my KIKO Extra Sculpt Volumizing Mascara I used to never go anywhere without lining my eyelids but now I'm so content with just a big volumizing mascara that makes my lashes look full, plus in Barcelona I had such bad hay fever and runny eyes that eyeliner was just a no-go but this mascara held on strong - oh and it's also half price at the moment!

For the lips I actually can't be bothered when travelling to bring any bold lips at all as I know I can't be bothered with the upkeep so go pretty neutral. Recently I've just been reaching for the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in 'Bare Affair'*. On first glance I was so worried this was going to be too peach and nude, but this is such a pretty and low maintenance sheer nude lipstick. If I want something that gives me a bit more colour, I bring along the Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip 'Aquarius' as this can be worn on it's own for more of a 'sheer mauve' or even put on top of the Revlon lipstick.

Let me know what's in your travel bag makeup and if you can ever stick to the insanely small 100ml plastic bag!

  9. Lovely post, hun! I too tend to stick to a neutral/nude lip when travelling. I want something that's versatile and will work on any occasion, so nude lippies are my fav. <3 I love the look of that CT eyeshadow... And I have to check out that mascara for sure! Thanks for sharing your picks, hun. <3 xoxo
