My Handbag Beauty Essentials

I am one of those people who tends to always over pack. Whether it's just my handbag or a suitcase for a couple of days away, I'll always have to bring an extra 4 tops, 9 lipsticks and 5 extra pairs of socks 'just in case' along with every type of medication, hand cream and miniature possible. However saying that, I've become quite good when it comes to my handbag on the weekend as most of my weekend handbags are quite small  and with iPhones being the size of a small dog, there's barely any space left for over packing beauty necessities.

The handbag that has been perfect now that we've been edging into Spring is my H&M Light-Grey Shoulder Bag. Sadly this is no longer in stock, and annoyingly it was when I took these photos but H&M are seriously killing it with their shoulder bags at the moment. I'm a sucker for a black bag but during the Spring and Summer time I wanted one that wouldn't be harsh on lighter toned outfits. My one negative about this bag is that there isn't a zip, and as someone who lives and works in central London I'm all about the safety, although it does have a unusual clasp to it which makes me feel that little safer.

I can't go anywhere without anti-bac and as I travel on the tube quite often the tube is très gross I go through a tonne of hand-sanitizers. I really like these new spray hand sanitizers which are really compact and thin so slip straight into your bag and don't take up any room and there's no risk of leakage. I believe this one is from Mad Beauty in Urban Outfitters where they have a load of them! Another hand product is of course hand cream. With the transitional weather and overuse of hand sanitizer I always get dry hands. I love pretty much all hand creams from L'Occitane, Cowshed and The Body Shop but the one currently in my handbag is the Cath Kidston London Toile Hand Cream that has a load of London landmarks on it and smells of shea butter.

An excessive amount of lipstick products will always be found in my handbag. Without a doubt Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk will have made it's way into my handbag as it's a firm everyday favourite but I always like to keep a miniature lipstick too miniatures are so damn cute so I've also got the Stila miniature Liquid Lipstick in 'Baci' which is a lovely mauve pink that works for a day-to-night lipstick shade. I can't go anywhere without a powder as I do tend to get an oily nose so the Milani Illuminating Face Powder 'Beauty's Touch'  is always there to save the day.

I'd heard that Zara perfumes were an amazing drugstore perfume alternative and immediately fell in love with the Zara Tuberose Eau De Toilette 10ml . I haven't used a roller-ball perfume in years and honestly can say this is such a handy perfume to keep in your handbag. Not only is it so cheap payday I am for sure buying the big bottle but it's so rare for me to fall in love with a perfume as I am so picky. Zara perfumes aren't the most long-lasting, however I use it more as an emergency top-up before I go out anywhere.

Let me know in the comments below what handbag beauty essentials you keep in your bag!

  10. I've scheduled to do a handbag beauty post in June as well! It's so interesting to see what other people keep in their bags.
I absolutely love the Cath Kidston hand creams as well, they feel good on the skin but they also look super cute when you pop them out (which is important, too, obviously!)

I recently wanted to pick up that Milani powder, but I was so unsure about it. It looks gorgeous, but I had no idea if it was going to be a blush or a highlighter or a (shimmery) powder? Does it really work for setting your foundation and keeping you oil-free?

    1. Oh can't wait to read what you keep! I know it's such a strange concept of a powder, it has both some pink and brown colouring to it, but rather than it acting like a blush or a bronzer, it kind of gives me an overall glow and colouring and a bit more depth to my complexion without it adding too much colour, does that make sense haha? I have insanely dry skin so it really works for me as it's quite glowy, but not sure how it will fair on oily skin. Definitely recommend giving it a try though!
