Champagne Shimmers

Okay so I know what you're thinking already. Caroline, every single one of those eyeshadows looks identical. And yes you may be right, but there is a reason I own an array of champagne shimmers that are near-the-same, because I flipping love a champagne shimmer. It's very rare that on a day to day basis I'll wear anything but a champagne shimmer because I find they work effortlessly for my days at work and brighten my eyes making me look a lot less tired!

I've gathered my favourite champagne shimmers in my collection:

Colourpop Supershock Shadow Super Hard Core - Okay so don't hate me but my two supershock shadows are actually discontinued, which is gutting because I absolutely love these to shades. Super Hard Core is what I would call a true champagne shimmer. Although I do mostly wear these supershock shadows on their own, I also like pairing them with a pressed shadow on top, so they act as more of a base. The finish is almost a satin shimmer and also make a beautiful inner corner highlight.

Colourpop Supershock Shadow Super Model - Super Model is that little bit more yellow toned than Super Hard Core. I usually use these as a base when I'm going for a golden eye, but don't want it to look too heavy and more bright. I'm absolutely gutted this one is discontinued as, as you can see, it's very well loved in the pan!

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize 'Jean' - You didn't think you could go another whole blog post without this beauty being mentioned?! I honestly can't tell you how obsessed I am with Jean. Seriously I can hands down say I wear it nearly everyday. Personally I think the Eyes to Mesmerize formula is second to none, and I would repurchase this in a heart beat. The opaqueness means that you can wear it on it's own or pack on some more shimmer on top.

Colourpop Pressed Eyeshadow 'Let Me Explain'  - Now as my supershock shadows started to dry out, I wanted to get my hands on the pressed shadows too as I had heard only amazing things. This is a very similar shade to Super Hard Core but essentially just as a pressed powder. I have a Mac Z palette which I use to store these and Let Me Explain is probably my most used eyeshadow!

Colourpop Pressed Eyeshadow 'Take It Slow' - Similar to Let Me Explain is this other gorgeous shadow. Take It Slow is that little bit on the pinkier warmer side, but only very slightly. If I'm a little bit more tanned, a white/ivory champagne shimmer can look a little weird, so I then opt for Take It Slow as it doesn't cast so white on my eyes.

Tanya Burr Birthday Suit 'Marzipan'I've mentioned the Tanya Burr Birthday Suit Palette on my blog numerous times, including recently when I have called it my Favourite Drugstore Palette. The reason I keep repurchasing this palette is mostly down to the shade Marzipan. Marzipan definitely steers a lot pinkier than all of these shadows, but my god it is a beautiful shimmery shade. Everything about this shade is a win for me, the overall palette it comes with, the formula and how it's an effortless shadow for everyday.

Let me know in the comments below what some of your all time favourite champagne shimmers are!

Left to Right: Super Hard Core, Super Model, Jean, Let Me Explain, Take It Slow, Marzipan

  6. I used to love shades like these, but I don't tend to grab for them as much as I used to. I did swatch that Jean one from CT the other day and like you say, the texture feels amazing. I didn't end up picking one up, but if I were to go for one, I think I'd pick up Bette instead!
