A Good Book - Whilst on holiday I can get through 2 books a day as all I pretty much to when sunbathing is read. Don't get me wrong, I love to listen to some music, but to me being on holiday means I can finally get through my to-read list which sooo long at the moment! I'll be bringing with me The Power by Naomi Alderman and How To Stop Time by Matt Haig. I've also got a whole list of books to download on my kindle as well because I get through them so quickly, so any recommendations send them over this way!
SPF Protection - I wouldn't say I'm very fare but my skin definitely doesn't like too much sun. I always wear factor 50 sometimes even 90 on my face, but for my body I like to stick with a factor 30. Two sun creams I will be bringing with me are the Dermo28 Skincare* SPF 30 and the Dermo28 After Skincare*. Hopefully I won't be needing to use the After sun too much as I'm going to be really careful in the sun, but what I love about these products, apart from the gorgeous packaging, is the scent. Sun cream has a really strong smell to me but these are a little bit less intense. As someone with dry skin, sitting out in the sun and swimming in the sea can leave it quite parched and as this is a moisturising sun-cream and after-sun I'm looking forward to actually having smoother and hydrated skin on holiday! I also love using the Solait SPF Moisturising Suncream because it's got a 5* UVA rating which is important to look out for!
Beach Wear - So I've pretty much fallen in love with everything in H&M, Primark and Accessorize this season. These three stores are just getting it SO right when it comes to the holidays and my bank account is NOT happy although I am, I really am. H&M have some amazing bikinis and although I don't need anymore, I've got my eye on this gorgeous Striped Balconette Bikini. In Primark the other day I picked up a white-off the shoulder beach dress which has loads of colourful pom-poms on the sleeves. I'm actually obsessed! In Accessorize they are just killing it when it comes to shoes and because where I'm going in Sardinia is also a bit of a city break I wanted to get a pair of sliders which would be easy and comfortable to wear. I picked up the Ellen Suede Slider Sandals and these are just so comfy and by far the nicest sliders I've seen!
Switch-Off - My last Summer Essential isn't actually a product but instead something I need to learn to do which is to switch off!! I would have just finished to massive events with work which means a little down time will definitely be needed and hopefully that also means I can shove on that 'out-of-office' and just enjoy spending time with my Mum.
Let me know what some of your Summer Essentials are and also where you're going for your Summer hols this year (I need inspo for next year!)
Nothing better then starting a good book.

Reading and sunbathing is such a good combination. Also love the last point of Switching Off, sometimes it's important to have that time off to recharge. Great post xx

There’s nothing better than a good book sitting out in the sun soaking up the rays. So wish I was going on holiday this year now!
