New in Beauty

It's been an actual age since I've done a new in beauty blog post because I've actually managed to refrain from buying new makeup products over the past few months instead I've just been spending it on clothes, we can't always win. However over the past month I've been very kindly sent some new products to try and thought I would do a little rundown on my first impressions.

Firstly are two gorgeous lipsticks from Clarins, these are the Clarins Joli Rouge Lipsticks*. I actually did a campaign with Clarins on my Instagram where I created 3 looks with their lipsticks whilst I was on holiday in Sardinia. The Joli Rouge range allows you to have your favourite lipstick shade in 3 different formulas; Satin, Brilliant and Velvet. I have been wearing the shade 'Soft Berry' throughout the Summer because it is such a gorgeous light pink which works so effortlessly. I actually gifted the Satin formula to my mum hence why it's not in shot and she too has been obsessed. I know that in the winter time the Velvet formula which is a matte will become a staple - obsessed with this colour and these formulas!

Secondly is the notoriously famous Beauty Blender*. I've never tried the original beauty blender as I just couldn't make myself spend £17 on a sponge and instead opted for the Real Techniques Complexion Sponge. I am so excited to finally give this a try. I did try and use it the other day but it just did not cooperate with my BareMinerals base so I think I'm going to have to try it with more of a real foundation rather than a tinted gel. I'll keep you posted on my future thoughts, either way I swear I'm going to take care of it and actually clean it too!

My flatmate's friend came over from the States and stayed with us over the weekend, and although I didn't get to spend a lot of time with her as I had family over, she so so kindly gifted me a couple of products including the Mario Badescu Rose Water I have wanted to try Mario Badescu skincare for ages, the drying lotion has been on my wishlist forever and I'm excited to see if it works in my skincare routine. It's no secret that I have insanely dehydrated skin and although it's been OK in the heat once we transition if ever to colder temps it may possibly freak out and need this!

Growing up in Switzerland Mavala nailpolish was pretty much my go-to and was always in my stocking at Christmas.  Mavala 164 Rose Dustis a stunning taupey light grey which is so up my street. They very kindly sent me 4 shades and they just totally got me spot on with this one. I've already worn it and although it is a grey, it is light enough to be perfect for an everyday polish. Another favourite was the shade 201 Shenzhen* a blush pink, pretty much all I wear on my nails as it's so low maintenance. So far I've been really impressed with the quality of the polish, my one thing with miniature bottles is that I much prefer a bigger brush for my nailpolishes as I think it makes much more of an even application.

Let me know in the comments below what new beauty products have made their way into your collection and if you've tried any of the above!
