Recent Lifestyle Favourites

It's been a while since I've done a lifestyle favourites and have actually been inundated with so many things I want to talk about. Due to it being summer I've been reading more books, shopping more and travelling (which therefore calls for Netflix shows to be downloaded on-the-go).

My Dad Wrote a Porno - Podcast
Podcasts are something I've never really gotten into as I've never found one that I could listen to each day without getting bored. I had heard quite a few people talk about this one and finally gave it a go and was absolutely hooked. Essentially Jamie sits down with his two mates Alice and James as he literally reads his dads, Rocky Flintstone's (pseudonyms), porn. I've never been in so many fits of laughter in inappropriate situations i.e on the tube and on a flight.  It is such a highly inappropriate podcast and I fricking love it. So many parts of the book are outrageous and sometimes darn right wrong, but Jamie, Alice and James' scrutiny and commentary are quick-witted and lough-out-loud hilarious. I've just finished the second series of them reading Belinda Blinked 2 and can't wait to start the third one.

Desperate Housewives
A while ago my flatmate and I noticed that the entirety of Desperate Housewives was now available on NOW TV and since then we've been binge watching it each night before Love Island. I watched Desperate Housewives when it originally came out and although I remember some storylines I still feel as if I'm watching some of it for the first time as it was so long ago! It is such a cult classic and I remember being so gutted when it finished.

Queer Eye
Another thing I finally jumped on the bandwagon with is Queer Eye. Can you believe I hadn't watched it until a couple of weeks ago?! I downloaded a couple of episodes for my flight on holiday and was instantly hooked. I now watch it at the gym on the cross trainer and I just love what a feel-good program it is. It's not all about just giving the contestants a new wardrobe or teaching them to make guacamole which I can't really believe they needed a lesson in but they teach them about confidence and loving yourself which I think is such an important message.

For my mum's birthday this year she was in London for the weekend and my dad got us three tickets to go see The Comedy About A Bank Robbery (CAABR) at the Criterion Theatre. Mum and I had seen The Play That Goes Wrong (PTGW) which is from the same company; Mischief Theatre Company so we were keen to see how this one compared. I personally loved it and my face hurt from laughing and smiling throughout the production. PTGW was a bit more "whoops there goes my trousers" (which is still hilarious and the staging incredibly clever) but this one was a bit faster and wittier. The theatre is also beautiful and as it's only small the seating allows good views for everyone.

A shopping favourite has to be Urban Outfitters at the moment. I usually don't buy a lot of UO as it's pretty expensive for what it is, a top being nearly £40 etc but I fell in love with this spotted Blouse and I was super chuffed when I had found out it was actually in the sale. Albeit it was still £22 down from £36 but I have been wearing it non-stop. I also picked it up in the mustard shade and honestly I want it in every pattern and colour.  I love pairing this with either mom jeans, denim shorts or for a night out with black jeans. It's super versatile and I'm hoping they keep coming out with different patterns as I just love the shape and the floaty sleeves.
