New In Beauty

New in beauty posts have to be one of my favourites as the products are new enough in my collection to be classified as 'new' but I've also used them a handful of times so I have more of a review than just a first impressions. A couple of these have been very kindly gifted to me for collabs but obviously this never hinders my reviews!

I'd been using the Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner for a long time and had literally fallen in love with it. It never budged and was so pigmented and smooth in application that it was just an easy win win. Annoyingly I ran out of it just before going away, so popped to Superdrug where sadly it was out of stock so picked up this one instead. And I hate it. I have never had a harder eyeliner to remove that also manages to make me look like a panda after a couple of hours. It's a mixture between not long-lasting at all, but a bugger to remove. I was so gutted and I just don't get why this has such good reviews. For the same price I'm going to go back and buy the other one!

Everyone whose a regular reader of Iridescent Places knows how much I adore the Complexion Rescue Tinted Gel Cream so I was so excited to see they added a moisturizer to the range. Perfect for the Summer, this moisturizer contains an SPF of 30 and helps protect your skin against UV and pollution. This is quite a thick moisturizer so I would probably only recommend this to someone with normal/dry skin. An additional bonus to me is that the product has a slight radiant tint to it which leaves a lovely iridescent ha! glow to my skin.

Kylie Jenner Velvet Lip Kit 'Strawberry Cream'

I have a couple of other Kylie Jenner products and when I first really liked her Lip Kits but they were just so so drying! So I got super excited to see that she had Velvet Lip Kits, just like the Colourpop liquid lipsticks these are a little softer and comfortable and have a bit of a NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream formula to them. Strawberry Cream is a very pretty light pink that I've actually managed to get quite a bit of wear out of considering I'm not much of a pink kind of girl.

M&S Trilogy Very Gentle Hydra-Mask

As per my previous blog post about skincare, I spoke about how I don't really like trying out new products as I'm constantly worried about them freaking my skin out and face masks are definitely one that I feel like I miss out on because of it. Sheet masks tend to not really harm my skin, but a lot of cream based ones can be quite aggressive and perfumed. So I was intrigued to try this one out as it's marketed to those with very sensitive and dry skin. So far I've not actually had any reaction to it yet which is a positive and I do feel as if my face feels and looks that little bit plumper after using it. The one thing that I cannot absolutely stand though is the scent of this product, for some reason it just doesn't sit right with me which I think could be down to the almond oil, which although very good for you, I hate the smell and taste of almonds!

Let me know in the comments below if you've tried any of the above products and if you've got any recommendations from any of the brands mentioned!

    1. Oh you definitely should! I really like it as a luxurious face moisturiser if I'm wearing more of a fuller face of makeup during the day as it actually works quite well as a tacky primer too! xx

  2. I've stopped keeping up with Kylie's latest releases, as it seems like there are new colours all of the time, and I can't bring myself to order from her website again due to the customs. Strawberry Cream looks like such a beautiful colour, and I like the Velvet formula!xx

    1. Totally agree, I actually got this from a work event I went to (it was in a goodie bag) and I don't know whether I'd actively go and buy it either, it's just too expensive and I think there are some other formulas and products out there that you don't need to fork out customs on, but other than that the colour is stunning! xx

    1. It's definitely a much better formula than her previous liquid lipsticks just because it is less drying and crumbly so I reckon the velvet formula is probably the best way to go! xx

    1. Isn't it! I just need to actively wear it more but I've become so lazy with matter lip products during the Summer as I much prefer a comfortable sheer lip product but the colour just draws me in! xx
