My Lifestyle Favourites

And here we go, my first lifestyle favourites of 2019! Although the first couple of weeks of January were insane and busy catching up with people, I feel like I've finally had a bit of down time again meaning I can work on my blog, and actually think of the things I've been enjoying!

Firstly is a book. If you read my 2019 Goals blog post here, you'll know I've got a big goal of reading 40 books this year. So far I've finished 3 books already including Dear Mrs Bird by AJ Pearce which I absolutely adored. I wanted to move away from crime and thrillers a little bit as I felt like I over saturated my reading list last year with them and I'm so glad I've branched out. Dear Mrs Bird follows Emmeline who dreams of being a Lady War Correspondent during the Blitz however accidentally takes up a job for an advice column. It's such a gorgeous story about friendship, love and struggle. I cried in parts and laughed out loud, definitely a new feel-good story.

I've been absolutely loving Netflix's Sex Education. If you haven't been watching it, you have to asap. Set present day but everything looks like the 60's, it follows Otis a high school student whose mum is a sex therapist. He starts to dish out sex advice to his friends at school with hilarious consequences. I've already cried in episodes yes apparently I'm an emotional mess but what I love more is that everyone is watching it and I do think it's going to help remove stigmas and taboos.

Introduced to me by my friend, I've been  an avid listening of The High Low podcast for a while now. It's a weekly podcast which Dolly Alderton (writer of Everything I Know About Love) and Pandora Sykes talk about popular culture, news in a funny and brutal way. As someone who works in the entertainment industry, I've found a new love for podcasts and people talking about popular culture, and it totally passes the time when I'm on my way to work.

So I know that Aldi has gotten a lot of stick for copying and there is a massive anti-duping going on in the blogging world but look, I am not forking out $50 on a candle so if I can get something that is just as good for a ridiculously good price I will. The Aldi Candles are seriously amazing and one of my favourite purchases I got into, along with the diffusers. They're not available in all Aldi stores so I always bulk buy! My favourite scents are Peony Blush, Pear and Freesie and Lime, Basic and Mandarin. They are really long lasting, look luxurious and burn with a good scent and never smell waxy like some cheaper candles.

So my first lifestyle favourites of 2019! Is it me or has January lasted forever but also this week...someone send me help! Would love to know what you've been watching, listening to and buying recently!

  3. I love a good Netflix original, so I feel like I should get on board with Sex Education! Also, thank goodness Aldi do dupes otherwise none of us would ever have any money.. I love my Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia perfume, so I must grab the candle version from Aldi for sure!!xo
