My Summer Plans

I am very much in need of some Sun. After a v failed non-sunny bank holiday trip to Spain literally the only place in Europe where there was no sun and lots of flooding I thought I'd get myself finally and hopefully ready for some sun and a bit of travel!

Firstly in a couple of weeks I'm doing a Baltic Adventure of sorts with my mum where we're travelling from Helsinki to Tallin and then onto Stockholm. We're doing all three cities in a week, so it's going to be one v busy trip where we only really have 2 days in each. Obviously I've got an itinerary down to the T. We start off in Helsinki where we're going to do a walking tour as it's I think the best way to see a city, the Mannerheim museum is also on my list to do there. We then take a ferry to Tallin where I'm desperate to walk along the town wall and visit all the churches and cathedrals. Stockholm has been on my list for forever and I am so excited to finally be going. We don't have long in Stockholm but bet that the Abba museum is on my list along with many Fika which is the act of taking time in the day for friends to share a hot drink and pastry. I mean. I am so one with Fika.

After the baltic adventure I'm heading back home to Zurich. Originally I didn't think I'd be able to find a weekend where I'd be able to go home in the Summer and see hopefully some sunshine but I've managed to get in one around work and it's worked out really well because it's the same weekend as Züri Fäscht which is one of Switzerland's largest festivals. I'm also hoping the lake will be warm enough in July too to swim in it and it will be nice to just see my parents as I wouldn't have seen my dad for quite a few months by that point!

Another weekend getaway is obviously with my flatmate to Nice. We were umming and ahhing about where to go and after the amazing weekend away we had in Rome last year picture above and we were debating on Italy again but most of Italy was just extortionate! So we found a fabulous deal in Nice where we're going to stay in an air bnb for a couple of nights. Nice to me just has everything, culture, beach, food and no doubt good wine. Obviously we're going to have to wear all the straw hats and cute floaty dresses whilst drinking white wine on the terrace.

Finally my big Summer trip comes in the form of travelling to the U.S! I'm still in denial a bit that we're going because it feels a bit surreal that we've actually managed to book this trip as we've talked about it for ages. My flatmate and I obviously who else was going to put up with me for two weeks?? are heading to Chicago, Nashville and then to LA/Orange County. I am so blooming excited for this trip already. We're thinking Baseball games in Chicago, cowboy boots and country music nights in Nashville and me not trying to kill us by attempting to drive along the sunny coast in LA oh and Universal Studios in LA too. My flatmate lived in LA for a year so I feel like I'm going to be very spoilt with her food and old stomping ground tours. We're so lucky because we've got people to stay with in Chicago and LA so we've got an adorable Air bnb in Nashville which is very instagrammable!

So I'm absolutely buzzing for Summer to finally come round, if you can't tell already! If you've got any recommendations for the above let me know as I'm a sucker for a good restaurant or culture suggestion! Let me know in the comments below too where you're heading this Summer and what plans you've got!

  6. I also have big plans for the summer: trains to the sea, to the mountains and just relax with a book in the gazebo. I don’t want the summer to end so much, so every time I create a mini-post about what I did in the summer, how I rested, what the new one saw .. Unfortunately, I can't write an essay about how I spent the summer beautiful, as written by you. Therefore, every time I want to share something with my readers, I use the professional writer service. There they write such stories, from which it is impossible to look away. Therefore, I carefully think that I want to finish my subscribers, and this service groups my thoughts into a wonderful post)
