Product Switch Ups for Spring/Summer

I am so apprehensive to start using the word 'Summer' in fear that really this lovely weather is just a disguise for a really late Spring! Nethertheless I've started to make the essential transition into the warmer weather including promising not to wear boots, bringing out the t-shirts and even more importantly, switching up my makeup routine. I only recently uploaded My Everyday Makeup  and to be honest rather than writing up a whole new blog post for my Spring/Summer Everyday Makeup I thought I'd really just highlight the products I've switched up instead.

L'Oreal 24 Fresh Hour Foundation for the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue
The first thing I aim to try and switch up is my foundation. I personally love foundation, but the heat of the tube and the inevitable visibility of my freckles mean I much prefer to switch to a lighter foundation/CC cream. Of course my BareMinerals Complexion Rescue will be my first go-to, we all know how much I love this product. Perfect for Spring/Summer it gives my skin just enough coverage to even out my skin tone but also let's my freckles peak through, oh and that SPF 30 is a must with the sun out.  Full product review here

Catrice Liquid Camouflage for the BareMinerals Strobe of Light Concealer*
With a lighter foundation I find that really heavy concealers look a bit strange if I use them as my freckles pretty much cover my entire face so covering some of them up just looks strange. The Catrice concealer has been a life saver during the winter months, but with a lighter base the Strobe of Light concealer it blends in so much better and still gives that bit of coverage and brightening.

Milani Blush 'Romantica Rosa' for the Sleek 'Rose Gold'*
When it starts getting warmer I literally look for anything that will give me more of a glow and I start switching up my matte products in favour for ones that either are satin or shimmer based. Although I love the Milani Blush, it is quite matte and I feel that Spring and Summer are the time of the year when you can bring out the bold colours in your makeup routine. Renowned for being a dupe of Nars 'Orgasm', Sleek's 'Rose Gold' is a stunning golden pink/peach blush perfect if you're wanting a bit of a golden glow.

KIKO Mascara for the Maybelline Lash Sensational
Like my foundation and concealer I also tend to lessen up on the eye makeup. The KIKO mascara has always been a favourite of mine, but find that it can be a little heavy when the rest of my makeup is quite minimal. One the same ball part of being an amazing mascara, I tend to switch over to the Maybelline Lash Sensational which is still amazing at lengthening and volumizing but is just that little less clunky and heavy.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk for the Clinique Pop Lip Colour 'Bare Pop'
Of course this doesn't mean I'm going to separate myself from my beloved Pillow Talk lipstick for a whole season, but in terms of an everyday lip colour for dashing out the door to the office or meeting with friends I tend to pick up this lip colour more. It's such a fuss free and low maintenance lipstick. It's a sheeny pink nude lipstick which isn't totally opaque so perfect to pair with my more minimal makeup.

Let me know what products you're switching up for the new change in weather in the comments below!

Left to Right: Sleek Blush 'Rose Gold', Milani 'Romantica Rosa' , Charlotte Tilbury 'Pillow Talk', Clinique 'Bare Pop', BareMinerals Stroke of Light Concealer, Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer

  3. I love to switch up blush in the Spring and Summer - definitely tend to gravitate towards more pink toned shades. Love the Milani one you've mentioned in this post.

  5. If I'm going to wear any foundation type product on my skin in the summer it will only be Complexion Rescue or the Bare Minerals loose powder, it's so breathable and light I love it. Also completely agree on the Clinique Bare Pop it's such a nice subtle colour. I've also been living in their pop splash lip gloss in 06 Adore U as both a lipstick gloss topper and just on its own to give a bit more colour than just lip balm. Another great product I would highly recommend. xx
