My Summer Reads

Summer time is the best reading time, hands down. Now my original goal this year was to read 45 books, and guaranteed I don't think I'm going to really hit 45 but with Summer here, I have been going through books like no other. I tend to chose much more chic-lit books during the Summer as they tend to be my more beach lounging, but I thought I'd pop down what I've been reading and what's on my reading wishlist this Summer.

I Heart Hawaii by Lindsey Kelk - I've read every single I Heart book and honestly, along with the Shopaholic series, it's one of my all time favourites. I'm so gutted this is the final book in the series because I love Lindsey Kelk's writing style, she always makes so many hilarious pop culture references in her books. The I Heart Series follows the story of Angela who moved from London to New York and her friend Jenny who she met there. I absolutely adore the character Angela, she's so funny and I love it because she just isn't perfect, and I totally relate to her on so many levels. This was probably one of my favourites from the series, along with I Heart Christmas.

Girl On a Plane by Cassandra O'Leary - So when I purchased this and it said "a sexy, sassy, holiday read" I didn't think I thought it was a 50 shades of grey kind of read, so that definitely threw me a little, however if you are looking for a more raunchy chic-lit for you sun lounger read, then give this a whirl. I definitely think there were some cliche moments in the book and there weren't any big character developments or 'journeys' but like I said, great sun lounger book.

The Lido by Libby Page - My flatmate bought me this for my birthday and I am so excited to finally pick it up this Summer. I've been meaning to read it for an age, but seeing as it's hardback, and for some reason paperbacks take like a year to come out now, it's not te easiest to travel with, but I am finally going to give it a read in the evenings just before bed....right after Love Island. Said to be the "
most uplifting, feel-good summer read of the year" this sounds like my kind of unwinding book for the Summer.

The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary - I have seen this book everywhere this Summer, it's basically on everyone's 'to read' list I swear, and obviously I have massive FOMO and need to be included. I mean you already know there is going to be something dodgy about a one-bed Stockwell flat where the rent is £350 per month including bills. I mean, it's not even far too good to be true, just unrealistic so there is definitely someone who is far too desperate for a flatmate.

Let me know in the comments below what you've read this Summer and what's on your 'to read' list too!
