It's taken me a long time to get to grips and to fall in love with cream highlighters, but this Summer I feel as if I've really embraced them. I think my first ever cream highlighter is actually included in this post as well. You'd think as someone with dry skin I'd be all over those cream products, but I actually find it very difficult to make them work on my skin and a lot of the time they tend to shift my foundation or are really blotch - but not these ones!
Firstly are the three cream highlighters in the 'Sleek 'Precious Metals' Highlighter Palette' Firstly in the top left hand corner is the lightest of them all called Platinum. This is almost an iridescent ha shade, it's very light and quite a sheer highlighter. I tend to use this more under my brow bone or in the inner corners of my eyes rather than on my face.
You then have the two shades Royal Gold and Renaissance Gold. To be honest, these are insanely similar. I would say Renaissance gold has a more yellow gold undertone whereas Royal Gold is more champagne. I absolutely love the consistency of these, they are so smooth, and apply beautifully with both fingers and a beauty blender.
There's no doubt that Colourpop hit it out of the park when it comes to cream products. I'm a massive advocate for their supershock products and their highlighters are no exception. My all time favourite colour is the Super Shock Highlighter 'Wisp' . This is that gorgeous bouncy creamy formula and as you can see from the swatch, although a bit darker than the others, is perfect for when I've got a bit more of a tan. Now as you can see the Super Shock Highlighter 'Churro' is extremely dark. I remember when this first came out and everyone lost their shit over it. It was the first duo shade highlighter and because it was limited edition, naturally it was out of stock constantly. However I did get my hands on it, and I have found that a) yes that it is too dark for me, but this makes a gorgeous eyeshadow or shimmer bronzer in the Summer.
Next is the second Sleek palette which is the Sleek 'Solstice' Highlighter Palette. Unlike the other highlighting palette, this only has 1 cream shadow instead of three which is 'Ecliptic'. In the pan, I think this shade looks a bit deceiving as when swatched it's definitely a purple/pink toned highlighter. If I've got a burgundy eye or rose gold eye I love using this for the inner corners, and this also pairs beautifully with pink blushes.
Lastly is a highlighter that came in a Birchbox. The Winky Lux Strobing Balm 'Radiant Pink' is a brand I'd never heard of before, but this has become one of my favourites. I can't even describe the formula of this product. It's literally right between a cream and liquid, I didn't think it was possible to get creamier than Colourpop, but this is. I absolutely love the shade of this product as well, it's not nearly as pink as Ecliptic, it's much more of a subtle pink undertone and is a shade that I've nearly worn every day this Summer.
