This Summer's Nails: Hot Pink

I don't care what you say. It's August. It's Summer. Ignore the weather outside and that fact that your feet are drenched because you're someone like me who refuses to wear trainers and are still walking around in sandals. At least my toes look pretty.

I think hot pink nail varnishes are some of my favourite to wear in the Spring & Summer time mainly because I'm a sucker for matchy matchy toes and fingers. I tend to steer away from really bright neon pinks I have quite a hideous one on at the moment and instead, go for those dark yet hot pinks instead so thought I'd link below some of my all time favourites.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel 'Pink Tank'  - A glossy long lasting gel finish hot pink, Pink Tank is one of my favourite and most used Summer nail varnishes. I really like the Miracle Gel Nail Polish formula, and the brush is one of my favourites, it's long, has a fat bristle so you don't need to mess about with multiple layers or coats as it does it in one sweep.

Nails Inc Gel Effect 'Covent Garden Place' - I mean as a Londoner anything with a name like this is clearly going to drag me right in. I never used to be a Nail Inc nail person, but my flatmate swears by it, and oh look, naturally I'm now addicted. Like the Sally Hansen one, the gel finishes are some of my favourites because they're longer lasting, ultra glossy and the colour opacity is second to none. Very similar to Pink Tank, but I would say this one verges on being a brighter and lighter pink.

L'Oreal Colour Riche 'Nymphea' - When I think about nail polishes, L'Oreal isn't the first brand to really come to mind, but I have to say I've been really wowed by the quality. I think not only does the packaging yes the packaging ultimately makes a big different look really luxurious, but the actual polish is long-lasting and doesn't gloop after a long time either.

Essie Eclaire My Love - Of course it wouldn't be a nail blog post without an Essie one.  I think this is actually a Summer 2017 collection so probably only available on Amazon now (tbh probs a bit old....and grim), but sometimes when I want something a bit different to a Hot Pink, but still in that family, but leaning towards an orange base, these shades are perfect. Orange shade varnishes don't tend to look fab on me, which is why if they're closer to a pink they just look that little bit less harsh.

Maybelline 7 Day Stay Fuchsia - Okay so technically not hot pink, and definitely verging on borderline purple toned, but I just couldn't not include this polish in my post. Now, this polish doesn't last 7 days, probably more like 4/5 but this is such a pretty shade for those who want more of a toned down Hot Pink on their nails, and aren't into the bright and hot pinks, but want more of a subtle yet still bright pink.

Let me know in the comments below some of your favourite hot pink & just well pink  nail varnishes. Best formula you find? Let me know!

  3. So many beautiful shades! I actually prefer darker colours for my toes - such as wine or black, I think they look very chic - but I love brights on my hands. Essie polishes never let me down!x

  5. Oooh these colours are all so pretty! I only tend to have light colours on my nails, but I think I need to invest in a hot pink; especially that Sally Hansen one xx
