My Top Single Shadow Picks

Whether they are a cream or a pressed shadow, I have a single shadow addiction. Don't get me wrong, I love a palette, and have a slight addiction for those as well, but with palettes there are always 3 colours or so that I don't use, whereas with single shadows, you just know what you're getting.

KIKO Cosmetics Water Colour Eyeshadow 208 Light Gold - I feel like a while back this was one of those 'must have' shadows. I felt as if every blogger and Youtuber had reviewed this eyeshadow and was the one that put KIKO on the map as an affordable beauty brand. Used as either a wet or dry shadow, this is a very yellow-toned gold shadow which is my go-to during Autumn and Winter. I definitely think this shadow is best when wet, but specifically with a Fix + rather than with water, or with any makeup spray.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize 'Jean' - I think everyone has heard me rave about this product enough, but trust me when I say, enough praise does not cover it. This champagne cream shadow is one of my holy grails in my entire collection. It is the perfect cream shadow to either wear on it's own, or as a base. It's a lovely champagne colour, neither too yellow or white based and makes any look so effortless.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize 'Bette'  - Another shade, Bette is described as an amber gold. I absolutely love this shade as a night-out shadow as it's a gorgeous deep warm copper. It's definitely one to use more as a base rather than an all over the lid colour, purely because it can turn a bit ashier when blended in, but the pots have such a great tacky grip to them that they work so well underneath shadows.

Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadow 'Porter - I can't believe this shadow is actually gone from the website. This is honestly one of the only purple-toned shadows I will ever wear. Porter is a beautiful cranberry purple shade that honestly is one of those one-swipe shadows. There is a slight freckle of gold shimmer through it which gives it a bit of dimension too. I absolutely love the super shock shadows, they're so pigmented and an incredibly bouncy and buttery consistency. Another shade that is a good dupe from the same range is 'Drift' which has a real similar undertone as well.

Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadow 'La La'  - I mean talk about a super shock shadow, this has to be one of my favourite glittery intense shadows. This is definitely a lot shinier and glittery than Porter, it is a full wash of shimmer. What I love about it is that it isn't chunky glitter at all so fallout is basically non existent.

Mac Cosmetics Extra Dimension Shadow 'Amorour Alloy'  I haven't usually been that impressed with Mac Cosmetic eye shadows, previously I find them quite chunky and find that they don't blend nearly as nice as some other brands, however the Extra Dimension range is beyond amazing as I find that the pigmentation is really stand out.

Let me know in the comments below your favourite single shadows, I'm a sucker for all recommendations!

  9. This came at just the right time!! I love simple palettes with four colours, since I kinda know where to put each one, and I'm a basic girl when it comes to makeup, nothing fancy for me. Only recently did I decide to grap a single, cream shadow from Maybelline. I'd love to invest in some of these higher-end pieces!!
