It's my favourite time of the year. The leaves are crunchy, my Bath & Body Works Candle is on 24/7 and the crappy weather means I can excuse myself from all activities on a Sunday.
I'm very much an Autumn/Winter gal, my body just isn't designed for the heat and I love it because you can get a bit more experimental with your makeup. Dark vampy lips and burgundy shadows, come at me.
The first thing I switch out during the colder months is my foundation. I use my BareMinerals Complexion Rescue constantly in the Summer, but find that I need a fuller-foundation when I want to wear darker makeup. The Revlon Colourstay Normal/Dry Foundation* is one of my favourites. It works best when applied with a sponge in my opinion and I feel it gives me such a flawless complexion. I would say my one gripe is it doesn't have the best staying power, so I tend to use this only on days when I'm only in the office/not going out after work, but I do love the formula etc.
Next of course are the eyes. My Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette basically doesn't get used all year until it hits September onwards. Full of warm and brown shades, the Cocoa Blend palette is literally one of my favourite in terms of colours and pigmentation. You cannot fault the Zoeva shadows, I think they are some of the absolute best and think it's one of the best palettes out there in this price range. The shades Warm Notes and Pure Ganache are some of my favourites.
Single shadows, of course the Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadow 'Porter' and Mac Cosmetics Extra Dimension Shadow 'Amorour Alloy' have to be included. Sadly Porter isn't available anymore, but the shade 'Drift' is super similar. A gorgeous burgundy with a golden shimmer running through, one swipe of this during the Autumn is perfect for everyday and evening. Amorous Alloy is a stunning copper shade that I ultimately solely wear on nights out.
Goodbye to mauve and pink blushers, it's all about the berry and red brick shades. Mac Cosmetics Mineralize Blush 'Gleeful' is that perfect warm burgundy blush. With gold shimmer running through it, it's got that extra dimension of sheen to add to your complexion. I'm not sure if this was limited edition or this is just really old but the Sleek Blush in 'Flushed' is similiar and also one of my favourites during the colder months.
Lipstick wise I would like to tell you I try and wear a bold lip everyday, but truth be told I'm just far too lazy. I'll probably wear a bold lip once a week, and if not it's always most certainly a nude lipstick. The cult favourite Mac Cosmetics 'Velvet Teddy' is my nude lipstick I switch out. It's that perfect everyday matte nude that suits so many skin tones. Although a matte formula, it's so comfortable to wear throughout the day.
Let me know what your Autumn makeup staples are! Also are you more of a Summer or Autumn kind of person?
