Monthly Favourites: January

This is it. We're nearly there. The longest month in history, is nearly over. How is it that every single one of my monthly favourite blog posts is like "wow didn't this month fly past" whereas January it's like, wow, it's January Day 3,567? Anyway, January has been one of those months where I've been trying to get back into the swing of things post Christmas, whilst also trying to get 50p to last me 2 weeks unsuccessfully might I add. I haven't purchased any new makeup in the longest of time, so these favourites are very much some old favourites, but products I've been using to get me through the longest month in history.

Firstly a good old favourite is the Mac Strobe Cream 'Silverlite'. Now this is a favourite, and also sadly an empty that I just finished the other day. This bottle guys, I received last Christmas and it has lasted me an entire year, and let me tell you, I used it pretty much every day. For those with dehydrated skin, looking for a bit of a glow-up and wakening, this is the perfect primer to pop under your foundation. It's lightweight, it's dewy and it's gorgeous.

Once I finished that primer, I started to use the NYX Bare With Me Hydrating Jelly Primer. Now usually I'm not a fan of primers with this sort of consistency, but I have to say I'm so impressed and am wondering why it's not raved about?! It leaves your skin with a tacky yet hydrated feel to it, perfect for your makeup to grip. I find it minimizes my pores, without being a silicone feel which I find always dries my skin out and it leaves my makeup lasting longer than usual. Definitely a good find! Not the most practical to travel with though would be my one criticism.

I was lucky enough to get a new bottle of my all time signature scent of the Chloe perfume for Christmas, but because it's so expensive I prefer using it for night's out, dinners and more special occasions. Therefore the Zara Tuberose Perfume has become my new love for everyday wear. I am obsessed with the scent of this particular one, it's feminine, lightweight and also still mature without being too sickly. They aren't the longest wearing perfumes, you'd definitely want to top it up at the end of a working day if you're going out, but the price is incredible. They also do little mini spray bottles too to carry in your purse!

One product that is an oldie but a goodie is the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette. This is actually the original packaging, hence why it looks different to the ones in the shops now. I have used this palette to death. I have completely finished the shades Push Up and Honey Pot and am slowly getting through the others. The shades Cashmere Bunny and Teddy (now called Strip Poker) are such perfect everyday crease and base colours. To be honest, I miss the other two shades so much, I think I'm just going to have to repurchase this palette once I finish these other two shades off!

Lastly is the Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip 'Aquarius' . Obviously a KathleenLights collab, this is by far one of my favourite lipglosses out there. It's almost pigmented enough to be worn on it's own, but it's a beautiful juicy pinky mauve nude that you can really pair with any lipstick underneath. My favourite combinations with it are Mac's Velvet Teddy and Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk. And for £6, how can you go wrong?

So just one more day to go until we say goodbye to January! Let me know what you've been loving in January recently in the comments below!
