1. Have Some Me Time
Nothing beats a good pamper on a night where you're feeling a bit run down/particularly need to wind down after a stressful week or day. On a Sunday I love having a bath, with a substantial cupful of epson salts, grabbing a book and just turning myself off for half an hour.
2. Turn Off The Electronics
I make it a mission to take a step back from my phone/laptop/TV an hour before bed. Obviously this doesn't happen every night, but it does make a massive difference. Whether it's just to read a magazine, book or just lie there, I think switching off from the mindless scrolling is really important. Although let me clarify, a kindle doesn't count in this instance ha!
3. Read A Book
This kind of goes in with number 2, but whilst giving yourself a break from technology try reading. I find myself falling asleep a lot quicker when I read, not because the books are boring!, but because it's actually a lot more effort and strain on your brain. At the moment I'm reading Where The Crawdads Sing but even if you're not big into books, a magazine or short story/poem will too shut you off from the world.
4. Avoid Caffeine Before Bed
I'm not the biggest caffeine drinker in the world, but I do love a cup of tea. However, I try to limit my caffeine intake to zero after 6pm. Although I totally appreciate how warming a nice cup of tea or coffee is, I find it does affect my sleep. Other alternatives like de-caff coffee or even 100% caffeine and natural teas like Pukka's Night Time Tea work a treat instead.
5. Lavender Products
If you're a particularly bad sleeper, using products containing lavender increases your ability for your muscles to relax. Some of my favourite products include Lush Sleepy Body Lotion, The White Company Sleep Candle and ThisWorks Pillow Spray. I know it doesn't necessarily work for everyone, but even if it doesn't, I'm obsessed with lavender scent and do find it ridiculously calming.
I've heard good things about this works pillow spray, I need to pick one up. I find it so hard to relax and sleep at night time x

Sleepy is great and you've reminded me that I need to pick up another tub. Turning electronics off is such an important one too xx

I adore Pukka tea! I love the Night Time one but also the Detox and Vanilla Chai flavours! Usually I struggle sleeping the most on a Sunday night for some reason, maybe it's because I'm thinking too much about the week ahead! x

I swear by a good pillow spray too and I adore Himalayan Detox Salts for a really good sleep! Lack of sleep shows in my skin and mood! x

Oh such great tips! I really need to learn to turn electronics off before I settle down. I know it would make a massive difference to how quickly I'd sleep xo
