Recent Lifestyle Favourites

I feel as if I haven't done a lifestyle favourites in forever. They are actually some of my favourite blog posts to read and write, because there's always some random lifestyle favourite that I read about and next thing you know I'm obsessed with it too.

I've been meaning to get better at listening to podcasts on my route to work, and my colleague suggested listening to The Lighthouse by The Australian. It follows the investigation into the disappearance of 18 year old Belgian backpacker Theo Hayez. He disappeared into the thin air after a night out, and the podcast follows his families investigation to find out more about his trip to Byron. It's really interesting because it's a podcast that only recently started as he went missing in May 2019 so the podcast is ongoing in real time.

My second book of 2020 was Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owen and I found it an extremely emotional read and thoroughly enjoyed it. The story follows the murder of Chase Andrews,  in North Carolina and the life of Kya, an isolated young girl living in the Marsh who is immediately the  number on suspect. The book was so vividly written and tackled some heartbreaking and beautiful stories.

I won't go too much into TV shows I've been enjoying as there's so many, so they basically deserve a blog post by itself, but what I've really been enjoying is New Amsterdam on Amazon Prime. It's a hospital drama, v similar to your Grey's Anatomy/House/The Resident, but because it's only 2 series in, it's quite fresh and new. It's a good easy watch, but whilst also super interesting, I love a bit of hospital/medical drama.

Bit of a different one, but a restaurant I've really enjoyed going to is Bancone in London. I've been to the one in Covent Garden last year, but went for dinner to the one in Golden Square the other week and it was delicious. The Ox cheek ‘mezzaluna’ ravioli and Braised venison ragù were absolutely delicious dishes, highly recommend.

I've also finally lit my Bath and Body Works 3-Wick Gingham Candle and I'm obsessed with it. It's a perfect scent for your livingroom and bedroom as it's super cosy and relaxing. With notes of Blue Freesia and White Peach it's not overly sickly but comforting. I've seen some reviews saying recent candles purchased have an odd smell (?!) but I did buy mine last August and mine definitely doesn't!

  2. That Bath and Body Works candle sounds like it smells amazing, but it's weird how some have been saying have an odd smell. I'll have to note that restaurant down for when I'm next in London too xx

  3. Ah I'm so jealous of your candle! It's been ages since I tried a B&BW candle, but they're amazing! It sounds like such a lovely scent, especially for spring xo
