5 Good Things

I saw Lily from Pint Sized Beauty uploaded a blog post called "5 Things That Are Making Me Happy" (inspired by Michelle from Daisybutter & Olivia from What Olivia Did) and I thought I'd go ahead and upload my own 5 good things at the moment, because a bit of positive reading is what everyone needs nowadays!

1. Turning 26

I mean it's a bit of a strange time, but tomorrow I'll be turning 26. I'm not massive into birthdays but I do enjoy celebrating them. It's an excuse to eat whatever you want my no-chocolate March has gone entirely out of the window, and it basically means I can treat myself to having a snazzy breakfast waffles/homemade bagels/pancakes perhaps and just enjoy my day. I'm not sure if my birthday plans on the weekend are still going to go ahead, but luckily my Mum came over last weekend so we celebrated it by going to see Hamilton and having a bit of a tourist day in London.

My flatmate gets the Happy Newspaper 'The Happy News' delivered each quarter and it's filled with a number of lovely stories around the world. I follow Emily Coxhead (the creator of The Happy Newspaper) and there needs to be more accounts just like it.  Just giving the world a bit of positive news, my one thing is...4 times a year just isn't enough of this newspaper. One of my favourite stories I read was "that in December, the world's oldest living couple celebrated 80 years of marriage and have been recognised by Guiness World records for the longevity of their love". I mean, that is the sort of news I love reading today.

4. Instagram Live Concerts

With everything going on, it's a sad time that loads of concerts/gigs are being cancelled, but celebrities including John Legend, Chris Martin and Katherine McPhee who are all doing at home Instagram Live concerts. Small things like this really do bring everyone together, give everyone a common time to come together and have a bit of normality.

5. Treating myself

ASOS had 20% off yesterday and Newlook are currently doing 25% off all jeans, skirts and trousers, and did 20% off dresses so I've taken this time of actually being home for deliveries to treat myself to a couple of new things including this dress from Newlook, this dress from Newlook and I also purchased this top from Stradivarius in both black and white which I think would look super cute tucked into mom jeans or those tie-waist trousers. Time to treat yourself I think!

Let me know in the comments below 5 good things that you've heard/done/seen in the comments below to spread around the positivity!

  1. This is such a lovely post and something that is so mood boosting during these hard times! Love what's been making you positive recently. Happy Birthday for tomorrow! The Happy News is something I always see and think about receiving. It seems a lovely way to boost your positivity. I managed to get tickets to go see Mamma Mia at the theatre later on in the year so hopefully we can look forward to that!xx
