5 Good Things #3

Living room dances - One thing that we actually didn't have a lot at our gym was dance classes. This is it, finally we have decided to get back on track with our dancing. Whether it's Zumba or following a dance routine online, we have decided to try and learn two a week. Firstly we trying to learn the Beyonce/Michelle Obama  Move Your Body dance routine. I also found a load of dance routines from The Fitness Marshall on YouTube including his Lizzo 'Good as Hell' one and they are bloody fantastic. He's got a load of different routines on his website and perfect to do them alone or with your flatmate/isolation buddy.

NHS Clap for our Carers - I have been able to keep my emotions quite checked in recently, but when everyone stood on their balconies/out their windows and on their doorsteps last Thursday, I felt so much emotion as thousands of people across the UK got involved by applauding our NHS carers. From GPs, Pharmacists, Nurses, Doctors, Surgeons, Assistance, cleaners and everyone in between it was a moment which I think will stand in time. What I loved was that the other, on Thursday again, we all did it all over again. They deserve our constant support. Our NHS are incredible, as are everyone else who are working to keep this country moving and going through this.

Having Time to Read - Although I usually do read anyways I’ve found such a pleasure in reading at the moment. We have a little bit of area down the back of our flat and around 3pm - 6pm the sun shines through and it’s perfect to sit out in the sunshine with a glass of vino. I’ve read The Lido by Libby Page which was a gorgeous read, Expectation by Anna Hope and am now on Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. What I love about books is that you feel as if you’re really escaping from it all. I’m definitely ploughing through the books at the moment so any recommendations!

Pub Quizzes, next level - I know I already mentioned my pub quizzes in my previous 5 Good Things post here  but we have now stepped it up a notch with my family quiz. We've changed our pub quiz to an entire theme for each quiz, so this week was TV & Movies with us team choosing 8 questions from our designated topics (Harry Potter, James Bond, TV Gameshows, Movie Quotes, Carry On). However, we've now decided that each pub quiz we now have to dress up. So for TV& Movies we all had to dress up as a Harry Potter character. Imagine this, my uncle in a black wig as Snape, and my dad wearing an egg carton on his eye as Mad-Eye moody in his bathrobe. We did Music as well where we had Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Lionel Richie and this week’s was Easter theme, basically everyone came as a bunny!

Easter Egg Hunt At Home - I uploaded a blog post the other day which had some tips and ideas on how to celebrate Easter at home which included how my flatmate and I had organised an easter egg hunt for each other. We took it all very seriously with our clues, my favourites being "If I Wanted to give myself a curl or a wave, this is where I’d go inside my cave ". We split ours across two different days just to really extend Easter that little bit more!

Let me know 5 good things from this week for you!

  1. My household and I did a little Easter egg hunt in the garden on Easter Sunday and we all loved it. An amazing 5 minutes spent thinking about nothing but finding the hidden chocolate. Would definitely be one of my good things for this week!
