How To Keeping Things Refreshing During Lockdown

So I'm currently on day 44 of lockdown my work were very quick in sending us home early on, and look, there's only so many things like "scrapbook" and "binge watch your TV shows" and "baking" to do, and let's be honest none of us can find any f*cking flour to bake, so that's that.

So I thought I'd change it up and go for a bit out of the ordinary,  and some new ideas on how to keep things refreshing during lockdown with hopefully some new ideas.

'Movies' 'Takeaways' 'Dining' Pick 'n Mix Jars - In order to spice things up we've created these mini jars where both my flatmate and I have put in what we'd like to watch, eat and make at home just to spice things up and have a bit of randomness. Sometimes we're stuck for what takeaway we want or what movie to watch, so this eliminates that from the stress and it's something exciting to look forward to. Some of the things I've included; Toad in the Hole (Dining),  All The Bright Places (Movie), Simply Indian (local Indian takeaway place). We already did one of the movie ones and I got two of mine; All The Bright Places and 27 Dresses. If you look us just are looking for some way to take the monotony out of choosing what to eat/watch etc, let the odds be ever in your favour.

1 Second A Day - I know that a lot of people associate your one second a day videos to being exciting content, holiday photos etc but I've been doing mine since my 26th Birthday (which was on the 19th of March, right before lockdown) and although it's not the most exciting content, I think it's going to be still such a moment to look back on. I use the app on the Apple app store, which is super simple to use. Filled with lunchtime walks, family zooms and puzzle making, it's almost like a diary in lockdown, but only 1 second which is enough really. Plus whenever this is all over, it's going to be so interesting to see the difference between the beginning and end of this year.

Come Dine With Me - Something I've not personally done but have heard from other people,  if you're with your flatmates or even if with your family, one weekend you have one person dedicated to cooking a three course meal however they would like. Just like in Come Dine With Me, you can rate each other's food, ambience and get creative with the entertainment factor as well. And you never know, someone might just have a "what a sad little life Jane" moment.

Virtual Book Club - I'm not going to lie, I don't think I can rally handle one more pub quiz. I currently have three a week and as much as I love them, I think anymore than three is pushing it. With more time than ever to read, at least I have, how about bringing a book club together whether that's with strangers or with your nearest and dearest. Beth's Book Club on Facebook is a great way to get started. I'm just finishing up my current book, but will be getting involved with the book club chat for Blood Orange hopefully this week.

Let me know in the comments below what innovative things you've been doing lately in the comments below!
