My Disney + Picks

I caved. I knew that when Disney + would be coming out that there was going to be no chance that I wouldn't get the yearly subscription. Who am I kidding. With lockdown, it's almost like Disney knew this was something we needed. I'm a big Disney fan, and I am in constant awe at how much content they have on this platform and how well the platform performs. Don't get me wrong, I've obviously been watching the High School Musicals, the Prince Diaries etc, but there is so much content that's my favourite and even content that for a movie/TV production nerd I've been so excited to watch.

Christopher Robin - This has turned into being one of my all time favourite recent Disney movies. Apart from the fact Christopher Robin's house in London was literally filmed across the road from me, it is an incredibly heartwarming story and has so many lovely messages in it too.

Saving Mr Banks - Of course as a Mary Poppins fan, which I don't really need to tell you that obviously you need to watch that, Saving Mr Banks tells the story of how Walt Disney came to buying the rights of Mary Poppins from P. L Travers. Another heartbreaking yet heartwarming story, it's one that almost gives you a bit of that behind the scenes to it, but still has that classic Disney motion picture movie.

One Day At Disney - Ever wanted to work at Disney? I mean who wouldn't. I've worked in TV production and I honestly find how other companies work and their innovative ideas. One Day at Disney is a documentary follows the lives of Disney employees, everything from imagineers, animators, musical actors. They then have One Day At Disney 'shorts' which are 7-8minute long episodes weekly on Disney + of other employees so it's always something to look forward to.

Disney Insider - Can you tell I'm a big nerd? Disney Insider tells the stories behind Disney's films, parks, destinations, toys & more - as we know, Disney is a full franchise, it's not just about the movies, it's a list of products.

Guardians of the Galaxy - I can't believe I hadn't watched any of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies until about a year ago, but essentially anything with Chris Pratt is an immediate yes from me. I've watched quite a few of the different of the Marvel movies, and by far this is my favourite superhero-esque films as there is a nice level of humour to them.

The Imagineering Story - Another behind-the-scenes documentary, this one is specifically about the history and creation of the theme parks of Walt Disney around the world. I think we can all agree that Walt Disney World and Parks are in fact the most magical places in the world,  and to know how they came about, to me, is just wildly fascinating.

What have you been watching on Disney + at the moment?

  1. I really enjoyed Christopher Robin and wouldn't have gone to see Guardians of the Galaxy if my husband hadn't wanted to but I ended up really enjoying it x

  3. Christopher Robin is such a sweet film. We watched it the other day after not watching it since it came out in the cinema and it was just as lovely as the first time around. It takes me back to my childhood, as my Mum would always by me anything Winnie the Pooh!
