AD | Summer Skin At Home With Boots

This post is an advertisement feature with Boots UK but all thoughts are my own

During lockdown I've definitely been taking more time in my day to to care for my skin. Self care at home has become more and more important in a way to relax and take time for yourself, and with Summer on its way, I've also been ensuring my skin is prepped for the sun and has the right protection and care.

I usually spent a lot more time on my evening routine however during lockdown, I've been taking more time in the morning to ensure my skin is prepped for the day ahead and luckily Boots have such a wide variety of different brands and products on their website in their Boots Skincare and Best skincare products section.

My Morning Skincare Routine

1. I think starting your morning or day with a good skincare cleanser is the most important. You want your skin to get a good deep clean, to wash away any of this impurities that may be sitting on your skin before you put anything else on top of it. As someone with more sensitive skin, I look for a cleanser that not only cleans, but also doesn't aggravate my skin. The Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser* is a favourite amongst the beauty community and I can see why. Enriched with cocoa butter perfect for those with dry skin it removes grime and makeup in a gentle way making your skin feel clean and balanced. I go in with a small pump in the morning and using the muslin cloth provided in this set I gentle massage my face and neck with it.

2. When my skin is feeling that extra bit off balance, I go in with the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Skin Balancing Exfoliating Cleanser*. This has been a product mentioned countless times on my blog as it's a holy grail to me. Whether you've had a funny break out, or sometimes in the Summer I get a bit of funny skin texture due to the heat this cleanser is a gentle exfoliation and restores the PH balance. I only use this once or twice a week but it's enough to restore my skin back to normality!

3. As I suffer with such dry skin I always use a strong moisturiser on any parts of my skin where it gets especially dry such as my nose, forehead and chin area. The Avène Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream* is your go-to if you're looking for something to soothe and heal dry skin patches. As I use a SPF that acts as a moisturiser below, if I am looking for that little surge of moisture in certain areas, I simply dab a little and gentle rub in. This product caters for the entire family; children, babies and adults so you know that it's perfect for those with more sensitive skin.

4. Lastly, before you go out into your garden to enjoy the sunshine with Summer on its way, SPF is incredibly important to incorporate into your skincare regime. Factor 50 is incredibly important especially on your face to protect from the UVA and UVB rays which is why the Avene B-Protect SPF 50* is my suncream of choice. It's ingredients are aimed towards those with sensitive skin and are there to protect you from UVB and short and long UVA rays.
