4 Bases with SPF For Your Daily Wear

You know what, I had this post in my draft and when it hit 'Autumn' I was like, hmm bit late. shames. Well not anymore, hello September heatwave! I used to not be that well versed into getting SPF into my daily routine, but as someone who is quite fair, and who also has many many many freckles,  I've learned how important it is to incorporate SPF into your makeup routine more and more on a daily basis. Although it's the end of August well planned content coming from me UVA and UVB rays are all year round, and plus, even at the end of August, I'm seeing quite a lot of sun for England!

Yes yes, I know we're all tired of hearing about this tinted gel on my blog, but it is my first choice when it comes to SPF bases so has to be at the top of the list. This is my 'foundation' of choice during the Summer months, it gives you a very light coverage, it adds a thin layer of colour, enough to almost balance and even out any redness. This has got SPF 30, and usually I'd recommend an SPF 50 for the face, but on a day where it's not too sunny, it's a perfect product.

For the days where it's incredibly hot and sunny, the Avene B Protect High Protection Cream is your go to. This has an SPF 50 and is an amazing base. When you first squeeze it out, it looks like a suncream, but when you start blending it, there are small beads that release a slight foundation colouring to the product. If you're going to sit out in the park all day in the sunshine, it's a perfect base.

For those who prefer a powder foundation to a liquid, the BareMinerals Mineral Veil is a perfect option. There isn't as much 'shade' correction, but instead it add a soft complexion to your skin. It's got SPF 25 into it as well. I tend to use this on top of my Avene or Complexion Rescue, as I need to always set my makeup, but for those who really don't want much coverage, but are looking for something to just de-shine and soften their complexion this is perfect.

Lastly is a productive with no shade coverage. This is as close to a 'beauty' suncream that you can get.  This moisturiser has an SPF 30, and this tends to be the first product I put on my face, regardless of foundation etc in the Summer. It's got that real SPF scent to it, and although it can be quite thick, I find it gives my face a nice glow, and just leaves a good SPF base to your face. If you don't want SPF in your foundations, I highly recommend adding it somewhere else into your routine, whether that's your moisturiser, or primer (in this case, this product kind of acts as both of those).

  2. I've only tried Complexion Rescue from these and it didn't sit well on my skin. I love IT Cosmetics CC cream and Omorovicza Complexion Perfector, which both contain SPF x

  3. I love the sound of every one of these products!! I finally started wearing spf everyday a couple of years ago, and it's one of the best skincare/beauty decisions I've ever made. I'm always on the look out for natural bases, and it's always a plus if they have spf in! Need to check all of these products out xx

  4. The Avene Protection Cream sounds perfect! I am struggling to use SPF daily because the one I have, although a great SPF 50 from Laroche-Posay, breaks me out on the forehead with lots of tiny pimples. The Avene one sounds great as it can be used for evening out the skin as well! Thanks for sharing Caroline :)

  5. The Complexion Rescue sounds wonderful. I've not tried anything from bareMinerals for a long time, but when my current tinted moisturiser runs out, this will definitely be the next one I try! x
