Beauty Bay Coral Me Back Face and Eye Palette

Although yes Coronavirus meant that I couldn't have my birthday back in March, it did mean when I was finally able to meet up with friends, I was gifted some very exciting very belated birthday presents including this Beauty Bay Coral Me Back Face and Eye Palette.

I don't think I've ever actually ordered from Beauty Bay, let alone known that they had their own eyeshadow/face palette ranges. I don't think I actually own a face/eyeshadow palette as I can never find one that has shades that suit me, but I am totally obsessed with this palette. It's definitely a palette for your Summer/late Autumn as it's got those rich autumnal browns and cranberries. I think this palette will suit those more with a darker skin tone, as the shades are all quite warm and dark.

Firstly the eyeshadows. It comes with 6 eyeshadows in the palette, 3 mattes and 3 shimmers. They are all incredibly buttery and soft. I find they last a really long time, but one thing to note that because they are quite soft, you can get a bit of fall-out so you need to be quite gentle with the pan.

Daydreamer: A baby pink matte shade. I think this is probably a bit of an odd choice of a shade in this palette, I think it's there to compliment the raspberry 'Flirt' shade, but it's so light next to the other shades it seems an odd choice to include in the palette.

Shell Pink: My favourite of all the shimmer shades, this is a gorgeous foiled shimmer shade that really packs a punch. It steers on the pink/rose gold side but still with that warm undertone.

Coconut: The matte brown/crease shade. I usually prefer my brown shades to be a bit less warm and more ashy due to my skintone, but when paired with the other shades in the palette, it works really well. It blends really effortlessly and think it makes a nice shade for either a complete matte eye lid or to pair with one of the shimmers.

Catching Rays: A deep caramel brown shimmer shade. I have to be quite careful with this shade as it's quite dark for my complexion, but for an evening look, this is such a nice all over the lid shade.

Freckles: This matte shade steers more on the terracotta side, I haven't played around with this shade as much, but when paired with either Flirt or Shell Pink, it's makes your eyeshadow look a lot more day time.

Flirt: This shade reminds me so much of the cranberry shade in the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette (Warm Notes) and is one that I always reach for in the Autumn time. I love doing a bold cranberry shade and with Freckles in the crease, I think this is going to be a staple.

For the face palette side, you get a gorgeous champagne highlighter and a blush.

Star Fish: This highlighter is absolutely gorgeous. I find the best way is to apply it with a less-dense highlighter brush as otherwise quite a bit of product comes off like the shadows, they are very soft so a lighter hand is needed. What I love is that, even though this is such a warm toned eyeshadow palette, the highlighter isn't a gold tone which I can't wear, but instead is that lovely champagne shade.

Smoosh: As we all know, I love a blusher and I don't think I have one that's quite this - terracotta shade. As it's quite a dark shade on me, I'll either use this in the Summer when I'm much more tanned which is not now currently or as an eyeshadow in the Autumn.

I've really been enjoying this palette, I definitely need to play around with it more, use different brushes and try out some different looks. Sadly I think it's out of stock, but there are some other YOU X Beauty Bay You palettes still available.

Left to Right: Star Fish, Smoosh, Daydreamer, Shell Pink, Coconut, Catching Rays, Freckles, Flirt

  1. It’s odd you say the shades tend to look quite dark on you, but the pans and the swatches come off quite medium-toned in the pictures. It looks like a stunning combination of eyeshadows, apart from that light baby pink, which I agree is an odd choice. A matte cream shade would have been better. I’d never actually use the palette for the face powders I reckon, as I usually reach for my single blushes and highlighters. But it looks like a stunner nonetheless!

    1. I think it's how warm the tones come out on me, also the lighting probably doesn't do it justice in the sense of the swatches were taken on a bright day! But yeah I'm not sure why the baby pink sits in the palette! xx

  2. I love Beauty Bay eyeshadows, but I must admit that I tried one of their palettes in this style and wasn't much for it. Their EYN palettes are fab though. It's strange that they look dark on you as you wouldn't think it from looking at the shades in the pans. Great post xx

    1. Yeah I saw quite negative reviews on one of them but then this one had great reviews, I think the shade variation is a bit better in this one!To be fair, I think it may have been the lighting of the swatches too xx

    1. I know, but then actually I went on their website and realised I've seen a couple of their palettes with that branding in the pans where it has a B on it, but didn't make the connection! xx

  9. I love the concept of having a face in a pallet. Saves packing so many items when travelling and saves time in the morning! It's such a shame that they come off darker than they are in the pan, although, it would still make for some lovely eye/face looks x
