Products for Keratosis Pilaris [bumpy red arms]

Something I've had for quite a long time is 'Keratosis Pilaris', otherwise known as chicken skin. It's where you get tiny little red inflamed bumps across your arms and it almost looks like you have goosebumps. Although it's not itchy or uncomfortable, I've found it sometimes a bit unsightly as mine can get quite red and inflamed. I tried everything from fish liver oil pills, E45 cream, eczema cream and nothing worked...until I've finally cracked it.  It tends to get better in the Summer mainly because of all the suncream and sun but in the Winter I find that I need to enlist some special products to help it out and these are my go-to's.

Lush 'Buffy' Bar  - My top product has to be the Lush Buffy Bar. I actually randomly came across this when I was on the Lush website and saw someone in the comment section say they have the same problem. Enriched with ground almonds, cocoa butter and lemon oil, I use this in the shower and it's a fabulous exfoliator. It also leaves an oily residue as well which perfectly moisturises the skin. My one gripe is that it isn't that travel friendly, if you put it in a 'transport' tin it can get a little messy, but it's perfect to use at home.

Sol Janeiro 'Brazilian Bod Buff' - For a travel friendlier option, a new product I've tried is this one. I've had my eye on Sol Janeiro products for ages and got this in my FeelUnique Beauty Kit. The best way I find this is using it as a mask rather than just a quick exfoliator, applying it all over my arms and leaving it on for around 10 minutes. I have to say this is a great exfoliator and great for travel, but I miss the moisturising aspect like the Buffy bar, so you definitely need to add a moisturiser on top of this.

The Body Shop 'Shea Butter' Body Butter - Another latest favourite is this body butter. Like the buffy bar, I'm finding the cocoa & shea butter two products that really help out with Keratosis. I found adding just any old moisturisers unhelpful, they need to be steering towards natural and also extremely rich. She butter has incredible nourishing properties and those suffering with dry skin are more susceptible to Keratosis Pilaris.

Palmers Cocoa Butter Firming Butter - Like shea butter, cocoa butter is just as good as a nourishing product. This is one of my favourite body moisturisers, it's amazing for firming as it's name suggests and I tend to use it more for my cellulite which it's also fab at reducing, but it's also a great one for my arms too. My one thing is if you aren't a fan of the strong cocoa scent it's probably not for you - but definitely recommend!

Let me know if you've used any of the above products or if you have any must-haves for Keratosis Pilaris!

    1. It's so difficult, I literally tried everything. The buffy bar is my #1 recommendation, but it might be a bit rough for your neck so the Sol Jeneiro one is a bit less aggressive xx
