4 Eyeshadow Palettes for Autumn

The chunky knits are out, the bikinis are put away although let's be honest, they weren't really used that much this year anyways I think it's safe to say, Autumn has finally said hello. Although I don't really mix up my makeup much during the Autumn months, apart from adding the odd bold lip to my makeup routine however this Autumn I really want to try experimenting a bit more with eyeshadow and creating those deeper and richer eye looks. When I think Autumn makeup, I think cranberries, rich chocolate and soft caramels no, not the food types, I mean eyeshadow shade wise. Shimmery golds and burnt orange too - which is why I thought I'd pick 4 palettes perfect for Autumn.

Of course this palette was going to feature - I mean pretty much an all year round-er, but during the Summer months I mainly stuck to the left side of this palette, but during Autumn I think the right hand side of this palette is going to be beautiful. Sugared Chestnut, Sparkling Rum and Sparkling Sable are all gorgeous deep shimmers, and what I love about this palette is that it has complimentary matte shades to work with the shimmers. As always with Too Faced, the formula of these eyeshadows is incredible, buttery, smooth and they are so easy to blend.

One palette that I literally only bring out during the colder months is the Cocoa Blend. I am obsessed with the formula of this palette and I don't know why I don't actually have anymore Zoeva shadows. 'Freshly Toasted' and 'Warm Notes' are two of my favourite shades in this palette, I mean I don't know any other cranberry shade that beats 'Warm Notes'. One shade I haven't touched in this palette is 'Delicate Acidity' - I would love to have some help on how to wear this purple, I don't think I've ever touched a purple shadow before! Also for those who love to have a black shadow in their palette, this palette gives you both that and a great brow highlighter too with 'Bitter Start'.

I think Urban Decay are coming out with palettes left right and centre, but for me some of my favourites have to be some of the earlier palette. Of course, 1 , 2 & 3, but Cherry is also a gorgeous palette and one that just screams Autumn. With plums and burnt oranges, it's a palette that both is a burst of colour but also totally wearable. The one thing I would say is that the order of the shades is a bit odd in the palette, as some of the shades aren't paired next to the shades they would work best with, i.e I'd have the shade 'Bang Bang' placed with 'Bing' and 'Devilish' but that's my own personal preference and obviously doesn't hinder the quality of the shadows!

Colourpop Double Entendre

Sadly I think this palette isn't available anymore, but obviously with Colourpop there are a million others available, but Double Entendre is a lovely warm toned palette - it has the ultimate everyday nudes and browns. If you're not big into shimmers this palette works quite well as it's 4 shimmer shades and then 8 matte shades. As always, Colourpop just kills it with their affordable palettes, when you put your finger into the shimmery shades such as Unhibited, as you can see from the swatch, the pay-off is incredible and for a palette that is around £12, it's a steal. A palette that is similar is the She's Soft Glam Shadow Palette Nude Mood

Left to right: Zoeva Cocoa Blend 'Pure Ganache', 'Warm Notes', 'Subtle Blend'. Colourpop Double Entendre 'Unhibited', 'Keep it PG', 'Hot Bod'

Left to Right: Urban Decay Cherry Palette ' Bing', 'Juicy', 'Turn On'. Too Faced 'Golden Light', 'Sugared Chesnut', 'Cocoa'

    1. Exactly, I just need to really do some proper 'looks' with it and give it a proper go rather than just going for the same shades for ease xx

  4. These are all so gorgeous! Those swatches are stunning. I'm loving the Too Faced one! I have used that non stop since getting it a few months back. I definitely tend to use the shades on the left side like you do. I definitely think the right shades are lovely for autumn time so I'll have to experiment with them xx

  10. Cocoa Blend is the perfect autumn palette to me! Yet I never bought it because I couldn't justify it (I have the Naked 1 palette from Urban Decay which has kind of similar shades/a similar vibe). Years later I still love it as much! Maybe I will get it one day haha. Love Heat by Urban Decay as well for this season!
Your picks are lovely Caroline :) x

  16. I still really want the Too Faced eyeshadow palette. However, I have quite a few nude eyeshadow palettes, so I'm doing my best not to cave and buy it lol. In terms of using the shade 'Delicate Acidity', you could try just applying it to your lower lash line for a pop of colour? I think this is a great way of introducing colour onto your eyes, without being too overpowering x
