The Best Places for Festive Candles

It feels good to finally be back, I took some time off my blog for no other reason than the fact that I was too lazy to take any new blog photos, but now that I've finally had a bit more productivity, I'm here with my first festive blog post. Although Christmas is still a while away, because we'll be spending the next month at home, I thought I'd bring a list of some of my favourite festive candles, budget and high-end, for you to spice up your home.

To support an amazing small business, I'd highly recommend looking at Apothecary 64's website for some incredible candles and diffusers. Some of my favourite scenes have been Penarth Pier which is a beautiful clean scent. However, their new Winter range including the 'Fir Tree Candle' and 'Fir Tree Diffuser'  which are the perfect Christmas scents for home. Fir Tree are fresh, and transport you to the Alpine Lodges (that perhaps you can't go to this year) with the scents of woods, Balsam, Cedar and bergamot.

All of their candles are paraben free, cruelty free, vegan and use 100% soy wax.

Aldi

Remember when everyone went absolutely mental when Aldi came out with their Jo Malone dupe candles. Well, I still can't get over them. Just generally these candles are just fantastic value, compared to ones on the highstreet. They probably come as the cheapest out of all of these, retailing £3.49 for the candles and diffusers. Some of my favourite scents include Peony and then Lime, Basil & Mandarin which is beautiful and fresh all year round. If you're looking for a more Winter scent, the Blackberry Bay one is amazing. They are 2 wick candles, which means the melting is more even throughout burning.

TK Maxx

Of course a trip to TK Maxx is never without a candle, and there are some incredible candles available. With TK Maxx, I find your in-shop experience is better than online, as there's usually a lot more variety in there. My flatmate picked up this giant candle for £15. I mean firstly, I'm just obsessed with the packaging, how cute is the lid? Secondly, the candle scent is really strong. I've sadly burnt all my Bath & Body Works candles, and find it difficult to find candles that are close to that strength in scent, but this one is beautiful!

White Company

And on the boujee side is White Company. Now I don't usually ever buy myself White Company candles, they're more of a gift to someone else, but I went to Bicester Village the other week and they had some amazing deals. I got a Peony candle which is usually around £20 for £11.70. They also had Miniature 'Winter' Candles which were only £7 instead of £12, which I think was such a good bargain! They'll make the perfect gift but of course I'm going to keep one for myself!

Let me know where you buy some of your favourite candles, festive or even all year round. With the likelihood of Bath and Body Works candles being very slim in the next couple of years, I need some firm recommendations!

  3. I miss TK Maxx! My favourite store in the UK for seasonal decorations and candles. They have so many treasures there. Right now I have a Yankee Candle burning - Cider Apple scent. It smells sweet and delicious! Though I find Yankee Candles to be more on the expensive side... Typically the Aldi ones are what I'd go for!
Have an awesome weekend Caroline! x

  7. TKMaxx is my go too for candles. You can always find some amazing ones in there with the Sand and Fog one's being my favourite. I treated myself to Winter White to burn now that it's getting a little colder. I was so kindly gifted Bath and Body Works Winter, which smells incredible. Definitely want to try out some independent business too - so thank you for the recommendations! X

  12. I'm very curious about the ALDI ones. I'll definitely see if they have them here in Belgium as well. I am a big fan of the IKEA ones as well. They also sell all of their scents in small tea lights, which I tend to use a bit more often.

    1. Love the IKEA candles as well! The ALDI ones are just really good value, look expensive and the scents they do are lovely, my one criticism is they need more scents! xx

  14. I've been meaning to splurge a little on a White Company candle in ages; this is a great reminder for that. You really can't go wrong with TJ Maxx (US equivalent)! Marshall's is a partner company w/them, and as that one is particularly close to my house, I usually pick up candles there. Aldi isn't very big in the US, at least not here in CA, from what I've seen, but one's opening soon a few miles out from my house, so I'll totally need to check out their Jo Malone dupes!! x
