2020 Beauty Favourites

So I'm going to get my favourite 2020 blog posts out so I can start living in 2021. Which so far is looking, brilliant. ha. So even though I really only wore makeup I reckon, a third, maybe a quarter of the year, I still have a couple of beauty favourites I wanted to share. For those days I actually put a face on. Which as I said. Was rare. Then there are of course a couple of other beauty/skincare/haircare bits I wanted to include as well, which did not require me to wear makeup and got me through the year.

Too Faced Born This Way Natural Nudes Nudes Palette

I think this is my only major makeup product I treated myself to in 2020. Honestly it baffles me how I spent so much money in 2020 seeing as I hadn't actually gotten my hands on any new makeup. I finally made the hard decision to get rid of my very old Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette, and knew I needed to get an everyday palette to replace it. Too Faced eyeshadows are some of my favourites, they're such fantastic quality - full review here. I think I wore this palette every time I wore makeup.

A cleanser I wanted to try for absolute ever, slowly became one of my favourites in 2020. I used solely use the Biore cleanser, but when I got my hands on this one, I could see why this was a firm favourite in the beauty community. This cleanser is fantastic with those with dry skin, it cleanses and keeps the skin hydrated. I have found my skin feeling so clean but not completely quenched after using it. I've got about a million miniature cleansers to use in the meantime, but once they're done, I'm going to straight away to buy this again.

Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair

My mum had given me this and honestly I have become obsessed. In 2020 I wanted to take better care of my hair washing it less, using more repair products on it etc and I have luckily found a firm favourite. I simply apply this to my damp hair and comb through and it aims to restore, protect and strengthen your hair. With hairdressers being closed in lockdown, I literally got my hair cut once maybe twice in 2020, and usually my hair would be suffering with serious breakage and split ends. I'm lucky that I got another full sized in my ASOS Beauty Advent Calendar so can continue using in 2021!

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Protectant Cream

Of course this was a product that is going to make it into every single favourite every single year. The year of no makeup also meant the year I could slather on as much as lip balm as I wanted throughout the day. I use this stuff religiously and not sparingly at all. Any burns from baking that banana bread? Sorted. Cracked lips from too many Zoom Gin & Tonics. Sorted. This stuff cures all and will of course be coming with me into 2021.

Body Shop Shea Butter Hand Cream

The year of hand sanitiser and hell do I need some hand cream. I don't think I've ever gone through so much hand cream in my life than in 2020 and thankfully Body Shop Shea Butter was here to save the day. This stuff is absolutely glorious and I wish I had gotten a large bottle before lockdown. For dry skin, this hand cream helps your hands feeling smoother, softer and protected. It doesn't leave a greasy residue on your skin and the smell is divine.

Elizabeth Arden White Tea Body Wash

Now technically I didn't start using this product until the very end of 2020 but I love it that much that I need to share. I love a body wash and I am obsessed with this scent from EA. This is such a boujee scent and I am obsessed. This body wash foams up amazingly and leaves your skin feeling and smelling amazing. I am in love with this scent and I am now going to go out and buy every product; hand cream, perfume and more body wash in this scent.

This Works Pillow Spray

I've used two of these pillow spray bottles in 2020. I'm not a bad sleeper by any means in fact I love sleeping but I am just in love with these pillow sprays. They leave my duvet/bed sheets smelling divine. I'm considering buying a full sized bottle of one of these as I use it so regularly!

Let me know in the comments below what products saved you through 2020! Spot any of your own favourites?

  3. So many amazing products! I love the look of that Too Faced palette, but I've been holding off because I already have a lot of palettes. Even though I know I need to declutter some, I think my Natural Eyes palette may need throwing out too. xx

  12. I've never treated myself to any high end eyeshadow palettes--when I was big on eyeshadow back in high school, I got loads of maybelline & revolution :') Now that I like a far more natural look, I'd love to invest in a high end everyday palette, and that Too Faced one looks perfect. I love that it has so many mattes, which is my go-to, but just the right amount of shimmers for the days when you want to zhuzh it up a bit x
