Bath salts are water-soluble crystal formed minerals that are added to your bath to mimic having a bath in a natural spring/mineral bath. The effects of bath salts vary in properties depending on what you get them for but generally they're used for recovery aid i.e if you have a sports injury, relax the body and in some cases remove impurities in the skin.
I recently discovered Dr SALTS whilst I ordered some bath salts off amazon during lockdown. I wanted to get hold of some salts that were both good value for money but also ones to help promote more of a deeper sleep not that I ever have an issue with sleep, I just love the scent of lavender. I got the Dr SALTS Dead Sea Bath Salts Sleep Therapy with Lavender . I have to say Westlab below used to be my first point of contact for bath salts, but I've been loving these recently. They easily dissolve and the scent of these is unreal. It has such a relaxing scent to it so I am really intrigued to try out other bath salts from the range.
My second choice of bath salts come from Westlab. You've probably seen this quite a lot in stores like Holland & Barrett and TK Maxx always have masses of these in the sales too. Some of my favourite Westlab salts include the Reviving Epsom Salts or the Sleeping Bath Salts. I find you have to draw quite a heated bath and make sure you move the salts around before you get in as the crystals are on the larger side so take longer to dissolve.
I used to have the The Charcoal Bath Crystal Salts which are not only totally #shelfie worthy, and not to mention matched my grey bathroom but were really lovely. Although chunkier sized crystals they dissolved really well in my bath and the charcoal addition is there to detoxify the body of impurities. There are so many other gorgeous bath salts that I would love to try from this company.
Small company wise, I purchased a couple of these bath salts a while back for a giveaway on this blog and I actually had kept a pouch for myself guillltyyyy. They used to sell on Etsy but it seems this company is trying to move solely into candles on there so have linked the website, but I loved these and these salts make a perfect gift. With beautiful aromas the 'Spa Day' bath salts produce that perfect spa-at-home feeling. Even better, they're eco friendly with recycled packaging.
Let me know in the comments below what your favourite bath salts or bath products are!
