5 Current Faves

I still haven't been wearing masses of makeup during the week but I have been making an effort once or twice a week now when I can actually be bothered (I should start getting used to wearing more makeup though with easing of lockdown...)

I thought I'd share with you 5 products I've been currently loving and using at the moment.

I've really been moving away from wearing full foundation on those days that I am wearing makeup and have started using this product. I received this in my last month's Cohorted Beauty Box which was a Monuskin curated box. I don't suffer from acne and I really only use a base/foundation in order to even out my skintone as I do have a bit of a red undertone so this is when skintints/bb creams/cc creams work quite well. Described as "a tinted moisturising cream that naturally hydrates and nourishes the skin, locking in moisture for up to 24 hours whilst balancing skin tone for a naturally brighter appearance." I was actually expecting this to be a lot more moisturising than it is so I think this would work for those with combination skin so don't be deterred by the 'hydrating' and 'moisturising' if you've got oily skin. This adds a pretty sheen to my face and I do like how it sits on my face. My one thing is that with dry skin I would like this to have been a bit more moisturising but perhaps in the Summer on top of suncream it might be a bit better.

I'm so happy I got this concealer from e.l.f. As a budget drugstore concealer it's been working really well for my under eye area. It works really well with all of my powders, doesn't get patchy or crease-y either. I highly recommend giving this a go if you're someone looking for a good drugstore option.

Another product I received in a Cohorted Beauty Box is this highlighting palette. I've just decluttered my very old Mary Lou highlighter and have been looking for a new glow. I love this palette as it's got three different colours depending on whatever makeup look you're going for. I use the pink highlighter as a blush topper and I use a mixture of the champagne and golden shade for my cheekbones. It's quite an intense highlighter and does need a light hand to stop it from looking chalky, but using the right type of brush which is more fanned out works really well.

I feel as if this is coming at a really bad time. I've heard the news that Becca is now ceasing as a company which is actually quite gutting as I feel like I've not tried this brand at all (however I will be mass buying discounted/sale items) . I got this in my ASOS Beauty Advent Calendar and I am obsessed, it's a gorgeous primer for those who suffer with dry and dull skin. It adds this beautiful sheen and glow to your skin underneath your foundation. This doesn't necessarily help with keeping your foundation on longevity wise, but with dry skin I tend to need something to help hydrate more!

Elizabeth Arden White Tea Perfume

In my 2020 Beauty Favourites I mentioned how obsessed I was with the Elizabeth Arden White Tea Shower Gel. So obsessed with the scent, I went and purchased the perfume. This scent is gorgeous, perfect for Spring and Summer time. It's floral and sophisticated without being overly sweet and overpowering. Notes are: top notes of Mandarin orange, clary sage, fern, and sea notes, heart notes of white tea, mate, and white iris, and base notes of amber, ambrette, tonka bean, and exotic woods.

Let me know in the comments below what you've been loving recently!

Very sad to hear about Becca as well, I've got one of their highlighters and it is beautiful and shiny. This primer sounds very good :)

  3. I received White Tea a couple Christmases ago and I really loved it - as you said it's feminine and sophisticated but not in an 'old lady' kinda way. I'm also still in shock for the Becca thing; it's very sad as I haven't tried all the things I wanted to from them, but I'm ready to stock up on the two primers and the highlighters at least. xx

  4. I was so surprised to hear so many good things about that elf concealer!! As soon as my one runs out, I'm gonna have to pick that up next for sure. The serum tint sounds amazingggg. I've been off foundation for about four years now, and I always use the CC cream from It, but I'd like to start trying other light products, and that one sounds lovely x
