5 Things To Do This Lockdown

I'm not talking puzzles although I am still doing that. No paint by numbers. I'm not talking those pub quizzes hell do I even remember what the fastest orbiting planet is? No. Lockdown has lost it's novelty, I've done more lockdowns than relationships at this point, so I'm using this lockdown to try and find new things to organize and keep myself busy -

1. Backing Up Your Phone/Computer

Lol when I do not recommend doing this if you don't have high speed wifi. I only just got behind backing up my iPhone about a year ago when I realised I'd never done it. The other day I realised I haven't got my Mac backed up to iCloud. That's 11,000 photos unbacked. Talk about the stress. But in all seriousness, how often do you go through your iPhone/computer and delete or cull some of those photos that you don't need/organize them or back them up?

2. Address and Clear Out The Man Drawer

I know I don't know why the hell we call it a man drawer as firstly no men live in this flat, and I'm not sure a man drawer would be filled with the crap we've got in ours, but that's what it's always been known in the household. That one drawer you've got filled with batteries, matches, why the hell are there left over Cards Against Humanity cards in here? Yeah you know the drawer, the one you can't face to tackle, well nows the time!

3. Try Out a New Form Of Exercise

If you're over doing the Joe Wicks workouts, how about trying out something new? My flatmate and I get a bit unenthusiastic if we keep doing the same workouts constantly so have been trying to keep it interesting.  Some of our favourite free and virtual workouts we've tried include

Fitness Marshall - We started doing these workouts at the beginning of the very first lockdown last year. We've probably done every single song surely at this rate. We gather around 10 videos and pop them in a playlist to dance and it's a nice 30min odd workout. Some of our favourites including Dua Lipa's Break My Heart and Pussycat Doll's React

EmKFit If you're looking for a step up from full dance to more workout style but still has a good fun element, EmKFits dances are great. Em's page is full of some fabulous workouts and literally has every single song/style/genre possible. Fancy dancing to Hamilton. She's got it. Abba? Sorted. There's something for everyone.

PopSugar Fitness. For those who aren't into the dancing kind of workout, we've found the Popsugar Fitness workouts brilliant. We used to do a Tabata class and enjoyed the quick pace of it and found their Tabata 45 Minute YouTube video brill. I like the instructor and also it's faced paced but a decent workout! Most importantly you don't need any workout equipment apart from a mat

4. Write To Care Homes

I've mentioned this a while back in a blog post but this is something I think everyone should and can do easily. People across care homes, not only in the UK but around the world are suffering with loneliness due to COVID. Postcards For Kindness started years before COVID, but it's now more important than ever. They're asking for members of the public to write to residents, simply introducing yourself, where you're from, fun facts/fun stories of the week. It gives residents something to talk to each other about and also sparks a conversation between them. Simply join the group on Facebook and head to the pinned tweets which shows you how you can get involved. For my 27th birthday this year I'm going to aim to send cards to 27 care homes. I also received my first response the other day and it filled my heart with such joy!

5. Organize Your Photos

Whether you're keeping them on your laptop or if your a big fan of scrapbooking or photobooks this is the perfect time! I've been doing all three during lockdown. Number 1 on this list allowed me to finally go through and organize all my photos on my laptop. Secondly, I've had a scrapbook of my London Life which I've been keeping up to date, even with a couple of COVID specific pages. I've been using the Ryman Scrapbooks which I love as they're big enough to fit quite a few photos but also are extremely sturdy. If you're not a big scrapbook person, photobooks are another option. My mum has decided she wants to get photobooks for all our family holidays, and so I've started to do a couple for her as gifts. You can also do photobooks of montage photos by years, holidays, special family occasions anything. I particularly love doing this as I'm unable to see family at the moment, I can look back on loads of photos. Some of my favourite photobooks include VistaPrint, Photobox, LaLaLab . I've started doing ones from university onwards (2017) using the Vistaprint ones. I'm waiting for Vistaprint to do another % sale so I can print my 2020 and 2018 ones! Although 2020 wasn't a particularly thrilling year...

Let me know anything you've done in lockdown 3.0!
