27th Birthday in Lockdown

[AD Contains Gifted Product] On Friday I celebrated my 27th birthday in lockdown. To be more specific I celebrated my 2nd birthday in lockdown. I feel like my birthday is a bit of a marker as to COVID and lockdown as I cancelled my birthday party 2 days before Boris announced we were going in lockdown last year.

I remember saying to my flatmate "it's okay we'll celebrate it next year"...well it's next year! Thankfully although it wasn't the party and massive get-together I was hoping for I still had an amazing day and really entire weekend. On the Friday morning my flatmate organised this adorable birthday set-up including my epic Mini Egg Birthday Cake (pictures below).

I had taken off the day from work and had a birthday breakfast Zoom with my family members with a couple of early mimosas and this adorable food platter. I also opened some amazing presents including my new Shark hoover, some new gin and champagne glasses for my bar cart, gin and a candle making set. My brother got me these M&S Gin Glasses  and M&S Champagne Saucers below and an exciting new Sipsmith Zesty Orange gin (thank you V and Honey!) which just look fabulous on my new gin cart.

After breakfast my flatmate organised a walking tour around London (got to still hit those 10,000 steps) which was filled with loads of fun facts. We walked down to the Southbank, across to St. Pauls, down to Westminster, London Eye and back home. Fun fact I learned, did you know St Paul's is the second largest cathedral in the world.

After my walking tour we got home and my flatmate had gotten me a Hayman's Virtual Gin Tasting. We were sent 5 miniature gins along with tonic and they went through a whole tasting and also gin-making class which was delicious and such fun. I definitely felt the hangover the next day, ouch.

On the Saturday, the birthday celebrations continued, people stopped by with pizza, booze and treats throughout the day which was just lush. In the evening, my girlfriends and I did an Escape Hunt Zoom into the Room Remote Escape Room 'Alice in Puzzleland'*.  I'd only ever done the print at home games, but essentially you have someone in the real-life escape rooms and you 'take control' of a Games Master, telling them where to go/what to pick up/open etc. Pleased to say, that we actually made it out and escaped in 53 minutes, winning. The Gamest Master was great and the whole thing was such fun, felt like you we were actually inside an escape room. Paired with some prosecco, it was a fab virtual activity!

Although another lockdown birthday isn't ideal, I had the most amazing day so thank you to all my lovely friends and family for making it fab!
