Currently Trialling: Haircare

[ad contains gifted product] I am rubbish when it comes to haircare. In all honestly, I would just use shampoo and conditioner, no hate to the Tresemee giant bottles always on sale 2 for £5. Mainly I think it's because I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to haircare. However, ever since my ASOS beauty advent calendar last year, I've started to introduce more and more hair products into my routine, and whilst I'm not always 100% sure I'm using them properly, or the right way, I thought I'd let you know how I get on with them.

Olaplex Hair Perfector No3

The newest product in my collection, I've heard people talk about Olaplex for ages and I've never gotten onboard with it. My hairdresser used it on my hair and told me it was a must as I've got a longer-balayage going on said it was a must. Now truth be told, it took me some research, and some very helpful recommendations from fellow-bloggers on Instagram to decide which product to get. I decided to go for Olaplex No3, as it aims to "reduce breakage and visibly strengthens hair, improving its look and feel. It will restore your hair's healthy appearance and texture by repairing damage and protecting hair structure." I've used this a couple of times, and whilst it's pricey I can entirely see why. Already my hair looks stronger, less frayed and more 'bonded' and healthier. I'm going to definitely keep repurchasing and also give some of the others a try (hit me up with recommendations!)

Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair

My mum gave me a bottle of this over a year ago and I kept using it and then got another bottle in my ASOS beauty calendar and I have to say, this is the only product I used consistently over lockdown and as we didn't have any hairdressers this stuff was a life saver. My hair would not have been in the condition it was this year if it wasn't for this Aveda product. It definitely helps my hair look better and my split ends were a lot less!

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5-1-Styling Treatment

Another thing I've been using is this styling treatment. I know a lot of people rate Living Proof and I can see why. If I'm ever going to curl my hair, or do some sort of styling/looking for some more volume when I straighten it, I apply this on my damp hair. Once I dry it, my hair feels thicker, a tad tackier without being gross/greasy or hard and it just helps my hair so much to hold curls and styling. I definitely will be buying a full sized of this one, but a little goes a long way!

Guys this stuff is expensive!! I thought Olaplex was expensive...until I did a quick google of this. £63. Damn. I read quite a bit about how a health scalp is super important for healthy hair, so I purchased myself a scalp massager off Amazon and I've been loving using that alongside this scrub. They say to use it once or twice a week, and whilst I probably use it more like...once every 2/3 weeks, I really enjoy the feel of it. I wouldn't say I have a dry scalp but I do think it's nice as a boujee hair/scalp product! I was very kindly gifted this product, and I'm not sure I would repurchase for £63, but it's a nice addition to use every now and again!

Let me know in the comments below what products you use on your hair and anyone with balayage, send me your best recommendations!
