Spring Makeup

[ad contains gifted products] The sun has finally graced us with it's presence and honestly I've never been so happy. I can finally ditch my winter coat for my mack and took advantage of the sun by sitting out in the park during my lunch break to have a bit of fresh air.
With fresh air and Spring comes a brand new makeup routine for me, this is where I turn to a lighter and fresher look with my makeup and I've been so fortunate to have tried some new bits over the past few weeks and months that I am just loving.

For someone with dry skin I always wanted to try foundation sticks but they were always so crumbly, thick and patchy on my skin. I was very kindly gifted this by bareMinerals and have loved using this as an everyday base. It's a medium coverage but definitely buildable. I find the best way to apply it is with a kabuki flat-top brush as it gives it an even buff. I also hadn't thought about how amazing this will be as a travel alternative in the Summer to a liquid foundation!

I have finally tried a product from Glossier! I have always wanted to try something from this brand and for my friend's birthday I got her a cloud paint and lip balm and just knew I needed to try it too. I picked the shade Puff as I thought it was the most wearable especially for Spring and Summer. I can see why this product gets so much hype. This is a gorgeous blush and just blends so easily and you only need a tiny bit of product but it's totally buildable as well. This doesn't shift or look heavy on top of any of my foundations I've tried which is a real bonus as that's what's always steered me away from cream products.

I don't care what anyone says, yes this palette is 100 years old, yes it's probably and most definitely expired and needs chucking away, but I won't do it. I can't do it to myself. This is one of my holy grail palettes for Spring and Summer and I just love all the pink and mauvey tones in this. Frankly I'm so surprised that I haven't hit pan on every shade as I use this palette quite often! This however might be it's last year...

After finally having to get rid and say goodbye to my one true love which was the The Balm Mary Lou, I was looking for a highlighter that was a bit more impactful but also not full-glitter and buildable. I had gotten my flatmate a trio set from Benefit which included Cookie and after seeing her use it...I had realised that I clearly vocalised how much I wanted it too. Seems to be a common theme when I gift friends makeup, I realise I want it for myself as well. I love this highlighter as you can really go as light touch with it or intense as you want.  Whilst the bulky packaging annoys the hell out of me, the product is too good. This is a golden-pearly shade and works so well with pink and peachy blushers.

When it comes to lip products in the Spring I definitely steer away from my brown nudes into pinkier and peachy nudes. One of my favourite combinations is using this CT lipstick and this BM lipgloss. The peach from Bitch Perfect and the pink from 'Vision' just work so well together and leave my lips looking fuller and glossier. Obsessed with this combination!

  3. I really like the sound of the bareMinerals Foundation Stick, I'm already a big fan of their Tinted Moisturiser from the same range and the Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff is one of my go-to blushers, it's such a pretty colour and compliments my pale complexion nicely. I also like to mix Puff and Dusk together for a nice bronzy warm pink shade in the summer x

  4. I haven't enjoyed foundation sticks in the past, but that one sounds so good! I've heard such great things about the cloud paints, but haven't tried one. The shade you have looks gorgeous and it's good to know that it sits nicely on top of foundation xx
